1998 Mazda B3000 extended cab 3.0 V6 from North America
Summary:
Great except for small details and customer care
Faults:
Came with lame Firestone tires. Same tire that was recalled on Explorers, but no joy for B3000 owners (at least not until well past the point of need).
All 4 ball joint boots disintegrated & it looks like I have to buy the entire control arms to replace them! I've kept several cars well over 100,000 miles & never seen this problem before.
Doors are sometimes hard to unlock with the key.
Dome light sometimes won't go off (I've heard this is due to a faulty switch in the door). I think there is a timer that prevents battery drain, but a real pain when driving at night.
General Comments:
My 4 cylinder Subaru seemed to have more power pulling a small sailboat.
Good handling, size, interior. So-so fuel economy.
Could have been a great truck with a little more attention to detail & some customer support from the dealer & manufactirer.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No
