2012 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring 3.7L DOHC V6 from North America
Summary:
As close to a sports sedan as an SUV can get!
Faults:
Rubber gasket surrounding right headlamp was not correctly installed at the factory. It was pinched in one area and protruding noticeably from the side of the headlamp assembly.
Silver metal-look trim pieces on the doors and on the sides of the center console damage easily and look bad after less than one year.
Rain-sensing wipers malfunctioned and required replacement of wiper arms and other components.
General Comments:
Interior is very well designed, and the materials are high quality and well assembled.
Acceleration is very good for this type of vehicle.
Handling is exceptional, and makes the CX-9 feel like a much smaller vehicle than it is.
Fuel economy is mediocre, at best.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

This sounds like a manufacturing defect if it is occurring on multiple vehicles. Do a little research on it and see how common it is. I would think there would be some sort of rust warranty on any Mazda. Usually they are at least 5 years unlimited miles. With a little effort and maybe some persistence, you may get Mazda to help you out with it. Sounds like the rest of your experience is good, so good luck with the one problem that is holding you up.
