1996 Mazda Eunos 30X Sport 1.8 li 24v V6 from Australia and New Zealand
Summary:
Sporty, quick and affordable, yes it is possible
Faults:
The plugs gummed up the first week.
General Comments:
It didn't seem to have much power. Then I changed the plugs, the exhaust and the intake, and now it's a different car.
I noticed that the plugs seem to gum up if you don't hit high revs enough. The hotter plugs helped, but more for performance.
I love this car and I am very happy with it. It's a nice looking competetive sports car for a portion of the cost.
The worst is the availability of performance parts. I now have 140kw at the wheels, but it didn't come cheap. The exhaust was a big bonus to sound and power, but cost $1500aus. The intake was $2500aus. A lot of money, but it is an added bonus.
The intake was the best part. Custom designed with 6 independent throttle bodies. It needs another computer which is the expense, for you need to remove the airflow meter and replace it with a manifold pressure sender.
If you are looking at buying one do so as soon as possible. Yes they don't have the best economy, but a few dollars spent and it keeps up with most cars around my area.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Would be good to get an update on how your car is performing since 2001??
