1995 Mazda Millenia Standard from North America

Summary:

I liked it so much, I bought another

Faults:

I have not had any major problems with this car.

Most of the work that I've had done to it, has been scheduled maintenance and occasional brake work.

I replaced the timing belt and water pump at around 100K miles.

The air conditioner stopped working at around 110K miles.

The flimsy cup holder jams and I've stopped using it.

The fake wood around the console became brittle after several years and a few pieces broke off.

General Comments:

This car drives so smooth.

The interior is extremely comfortable. I especially love the climate control.

The only thing I don't like about the car, is the cost of maintenance and repairs. Even a tune up costs a couple hundred dollars.

I drive a 1995 Mazda Millenia S and my a/c went out too. I live in Mississippi so it's really hot! I saw that you're air conditioning went out in yours and was wondering what you did about it. The men at the oil changing place told me it was the evaporator and said it will cost around $2,000. Can you give me some advice? Thank you.

Faults:

From the dealership records, the only warranty item repaired in the first 60,000 miles was the center sun-visor.

Recently replaced driver's side CV axle.

General Comments:

Purchased vehicle for $4,200, put $600 worth of V-rated Dunlop tires on it, and I am extremely satisfied. Previous owner kept immaculate care, body style is still somewhat current, neighbors thought I had bought a brand new car, but didn't know what it was. Pearl White is beautiful.

Great handling, supple ride, Bose system is audiophile quality, drivetrain performance in the 70 to 110 mph range is silky smooth.

Cup holder is very flimsy and not worthy of the rest of this car, front seat bottoms are too hard.

I love my car, but I have had a problem that three mechanics could not figure out. The only common variable is that the computer keeps saying bad injector even though it has been replaced by at least two of the mechanics. I was reading some comments on other model years and they describe the same sputtering and low idle problems. Any comments or solutions.

1995 Mazda Millenia 2.5 from North America

Summary:

Good value if repairs aren't necessary

Faults:

CV boots cracked and drive axles had to be replaced.

Undercarriage extremely susceptible to rust.

Check engine light turned on, dealer found nothing wrong then replaced computer and light remained on. They wanted to replace it again for additional cost, but I declined. Has anyone else had a similar problem? I have heard vague rumors of wire harness shorts.

General Comments:

This is a very comfortable car with acceptable power. Would recommend the S for additional power though.

Excellent bells and whistles, though I am worried what will happen when they start to fail.

Replacement parts are very expensive.

I just thought I should mention that I'm also having the Check light coming on and off for no reason, though I've yet to take it to a dealer to see if they can find anything.

I bought a used '97 Millenia S (jet black, beautiful) with around 80,000 miles on it and so far I've only had to do the standard maintenance on it. (which isn't really saying much yet considering I've only had it for a little over 1 month)

The exterior design is very nice though and people often think I'm driving something much more expensive car then the $2,800 I got it for. I also love the combination of comfort and speed!
