I'm sorry to hear that so many are displeased with sales and service from Mazda. I bought an '01 mpv from my local dealer in Yonkers, NY and couldn't have been happier. Very nice, low key, low pressure and very competitive pricing. No sales pitches on extended warranties and other nonsense. No need for service yet. I'll let you know how that goes, but I'm likely to go to my personal fav mechanic for that anyway. - Phil.

We also have had problems with our 2001 MPV. It takes several attempts to start the vehicle. Usually starts on the 3rd or 4th try. The dealer has had the vehicle more than a month in and out of the shop.

An absolute lie. The Mazda MPV is not on the list - read if for yourself at:

You should be ashamed of yourself.

I have a 2002 Mazda MPV and find that the air-conditioning does not cool the driver and front seat passenger let alone the rear passengers. The dealer has checked the vehicle and says the problem is with air flow within the car and there is nothing he can do about it. Has anyone else had these problems?

We bought a 2002 Mazda MPV on the last Friday of August last year and as soon as we pulled of the lot and got to the freeway the darn van stopped! It stopped three more times before we got home. The dealer was closed because they just waited for us to close out our sale. And it was a long weekend then so they won't be open again until Tuesday the next week. I bought this at Santa Monica Mazda here in California, probably the worst dealership ever! I've bought six cars the past 10 years and so far, this dealership is by far the worst! Their Finance guy is a racist and their service people are the worst. I ended up getting my money back after the car was declared a lemon 9 months later! I would never buy a Mazda again or any car affiliated with Ford! Never again!

This probably is not a help! I've been running a little Mazda (they call it a 121 Metro) here in Australia for the past 5 years. The car is fine, but I have to say this, the Mazda dealers and the Mazda service is awful! The dealers are multi-franchise in general - you know, Mazda/Subaru/Mercedes/Kia... oh, so that's where the oil filter is!!!And the upshot is, last Mazda I will buy. Horrible question is, who do I go with next. Oh well, maybe its back to the bus!
Cheers from Sydney Australia
Pat.
