If you are looking for a turbo, You might try Turbo City in California. They have both new and rebuilt and are very helpful.

I have a 1991 mx6 gt, auto, with 93000 km. It's my new project car, with a MSD ignition system, headers, cold air and 3" exhaust, it's a really fast car. The only problem I've had is with CV's and finding aftermarket parts.

I currently own a 1989 Mazda MX6 GT with about 180,000 miles, of which about 60,000 are mine. This is easily the most fun car to drive - a true sneaker! Most hot rodders see this car and chuckle... until all they see is my taillights! Very comfortable for in town or an across the state drive.

Sure there are maintenance issues - every car has them. This is my fifth Mazda. Two of them went nearly 300,000 miles before being retired, and two had 225,000 + before being totaled by not so very good drivers. I cried after each one passed away.

Current MX6 get 26 - 33 mpg city/hwy with more power and punch than anything in its class. Sorry for those who have not been as fortunate as I in buying good ones - keep looking!

Currently the owner of 1988 MX-6 GT with 282,000 miles purchased with 103,000 in 1996. The very first day of ownership I raced a Mustang 5.0 and pulled away at 131mph. I just had major service done including, axles, brakes, timing, and fuel injectors; and after picking it up raced a Tiburon V6 and pulled away at 120mph. Manufacturer says bhp is 145 but it they must mean stock, it has to be much more.

Hello there, I have a 1991 Mazda MX6 LX auto. with 205 000 miles on it. I bought it with 156 000 miles.

It's burning oil, engine knocking, engine shaking when is in gear (common problem), shocks and ball joints are went out, washer fluid sensor doesn't work, front shocks support are bad (I already fixed this problem 2 years ago).

2 years ago I replaced the ERG valve ($700 at dealer), put a new window motor and master window switch (driver side), transmission was replaced 4 years ago, engine mount are bad...

I took good care of it, but I newer put it in 100% working conditions (maybe because the owners before me). It is hard to find parts, and they are expensive. I love this car since a first day I owned it. It is a great looking car with all the options on it.

I own an '88 Mazda MX-6 GT. Been driving it for two weeks now... this car is insane.

I bought it with it burning oil and was expecting major repairs, but it was only the gaskets in the turbo itself, which I picked up for about $45 U.S. a piece.

The car has some mods done to it.. (full straight exhaust, cold air, Subaru WRX Impreza STI turbo with the custom exhaust manifold running at 18psi (the Japanese version) and Blitz turbo timer and Greddy blow off valve.

If you're thinking about selling yours, you'll regret it, and you will spend quite some time trying to find one in the same/worse condition.

With the few simple mods I've claimed earlier, I'm creating 367WHP and 470 ft lbs torque.

The only thing wrong is it's leaking a tiny amount of coolant, and I'm fixing it today now that I've finally located it.

This car is the ultimate sleeper, and has many cars (any Honda you can think of, Mustangs of all shapes and sizes, Camaros (the new SS included!!!), Vettes, etc..) under it's belt so far.

It's a great car, and definitely sure to surprise, so be sure take care of yours!!!

- Evan.

My daughter bought a 1989 MX6 turbo about 6 months ago. Recently it has decided not to start. We can't figure out what it might be other than a fuel pump, and don't have a way to test it without taking it in to a shop. Any suggestions?

I'm about to buy an 89 Mazda MX6 turbo 5 speed.. Great little car; test drove it and loved it.. Only thing is is that the dealer thinks it's worth way more than what it is..

I bought a 1990 Mazda MX6 GT turbo about 6 years ago with around 125K on it. It's been a great car. I had to replace the turbo at about 140k and the clutch at 175k. It now has over 200k on it, still sets me back in the seat under boost, and runs great. I'm thinking of getting something different, but I know I will regret parting with it.

I got my 89 MX6 GT a few years ago, and it was in sad shape. Locks shot, windows not working, seat mount cracked, CV joints clicking, radiator leaking, and many more things, but I got it for nothing, and with a bit of sweat and a few bucks, I have a screamer. Looks great, and runs like a banshee.

I am the original owner of a 1989 MX6-GT... I bought it in Edmonton in Canada in January 1989. It came with all options including digital dash (except for AWS) and cost $22,800 Cdn. It also came with a ground effects kit from the showroom that I've never seen on another GT.

It was a daily driver for years, although I always had something else to drive, and it is still a blast to drive today.

Although always garaged, I had it repainted in 2008, still the same bright red as from the factory, but with a subtle blue metalflake... sounds weird, but looks great. Still all original, but I have 18s on it now (3 sets of rims/tires in all).

The original stereo with 10 band equalizer finally went out, so that has been replaced (I still have it in a box!) with a custom sound system.

Always ran like a champ, crazy torque steer, only things needing attention right now is one of the half shafts slightly leaking (common) and the A/C needs some attention... seems to always be an issue here in Nevada, where the car is now. Zoom zoom!
