I think all 93 Mazda MX6 owners would agree that when you're doing 65 mph it feels like you're looking for a place to park...lol...I haven't had any problems with my MX6 other than the transmission and a bushing/caliper on the front suspension. I think that the Mazda MX6 has been known for transmission problems. But at 150,000 miles.. it looks and drives like its hot off the lot!

I have a 93 MX-6 LS and I have owned it for about 3 yrs now. I just love the car and have never had anything attract so much attention as it does.
I have had the usual repairs of a car this age, but I can agree at 65 MPH it feels like you are looking for a place to park. Book states 140 top end, I have not gotten it there, yet at 125 MPH it still handles well.
I have changed out both CV joints, distributor, radiator, timing belt, and a few other odds and ends, as it had 173,000 when I got it.
I did however add a more open exhaust, and it got a lil better low end torque, and a K&N air filter so the motor breathes better.
It is not the quickest out there, but it ain't slow either, but it does it with style and grace. * (to be noted) not all parts were bad that I replaced, but an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.
It is always a work in progress, and a keeper for a long time to come, as TEXAS cars don't rust and this has never been wrecked.
I wish it had a 6th gear to my manual transmission, to get a bit more top end out of it.

I have a 1993 Mazda MX6. I will agree it's fast, and I love it. What I can't believe is that you listed your problems with your MX6 and didn't say anything about the transmission. I've had to replace the one that came with it, and I had to have the one I put in it rebuilt within 3 months of me putting it in. (When I got the car in '03 it needed a new transmission, and not long after I put that one in I had to rebuild it because it started slipping) I just thought all MX6s had bad transmissions. I guess I know now that it's just mine.
