2009 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C180 1.6 Komp Spt Blueeff-Cy. petrol from UK and Ireland

Summary:

The car was OK, but it's an expensive business when it goes wrong. Big price to pay

Faults:

Not reliable. When things go wrong, they go wrong very badly and it's a very expensive job to repair.

The car won't start; the problem was the electronic steering lock problems. A common problem with these Mercedes.

General Comments:

The car is good to drive and comfortable, but not very reliable.

The Electronic Steering Lock is a known and common fault with the W204 C-class, and makes me wonder why on earth Mercedes didn't do a recall for this. I mean, imagine if the ESL goes wrong when driving the car and the engine shuts down? A very dangerous situation.

2009 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C300 from North America

Summary:

Probably the best car I'll ever have

Faults:

Two years after ownership, the alternator had to be changed, but it was because the lights were left on for 12 hours. It was covered on the warranty.

General Comments:

This car is the combination of everything one desires, with an affordable price compared to what competitors offer.

The only thing that could be improved is the outside noise. It was not as quiet as some other competing sedans.

This car is very stable and comfortable for long drives. I've done 13 hours drive in one shot. It's very comfortable. The Harman Kardon sound system is amazing, and it comes with a lot of options at a cheaper price than other competitors.

2009 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C350 Sport 3.0 V6 from North America

Summary:

The C350 offers standard, tried-and-true Mercedes excellence at a surprisingly affordable price

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

The C350 is an excellent luxury small car.

The C350 larger engine is a big improvement over the C300, which is underpowered and poor value.

Gas mileage leaves something to be desired (21/25), but is adequate given the engine size.

The interior is typical Mercedes - sleek, minimalistic but elegant.

The rear legroom is plenty adequate.

The trunk is on the small side.

The sound system is excellent, and the standard 6 CD changer is something the competition does not offer, but the Mercedes navigation system is not very user-friendly, and not as good as most aftermarket navigation systems.

Handling and steering are excellent.

Rear sensors/rear view camera is not available on the C-class, although it is available in all competitors.

Surprisingly affordable and fairly priced for a Mercedes.

2009 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C300 Sport 4 matic from North America

Summary:

It does not get the credit it deserves

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

This car is sadly underrated. It is stable, nimble, and well built, and has an attractive exterior.

I drove the 5 and 3 series BMW'S for years. This car competes with the 5 series.

Interior could use some upgrading, and the trunk is small.
