2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Classis 200 Kompressor from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Top Class Executive Car

Faults:

This car has behaved like the perfect gentleman.

The new electronic braking system took a little to get used to, but know its great.

General Comments:

Although the base model of the range the equipment specification is generous.

The 1.8 liter supercharged engine performs adequately, but in the UK the company car tax on this model is seriously low for this type of car (yes even against diesels)

Cabin space is excellent, cruising down the motorway is a joy I have driven two to three hours non stop and emerged without the usual back pain I previous encountered.

2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E220CDI Elegance 2.2 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A wonderful luxury car... shame it's not British

Faults:

The car is now nine months old and to date I have had no problems with the reliability of the car.

However, there is a rattle from the rear suspension which the dealer have tried several times to rectify and they admit there is a fault, but cannot find the exact problem, I am still waiting for them to come up with a remedy to fix it.

General Comments:

The Mercedes E220CDI is a superb car and I would have no hesitation in buying another.

The build quality is second to none, the acceleration is great and its quiet and sooth running on motorways.

Refined interior makes driving long distances less stressful.

2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E240 2.6 petrol from Indonesia

Summary:

Competent Executive Express

Faults:

Audio System Mysteriously went dead during operations (twice)

The Company refuse COMMAND system order and replace it with AUDIO 50 Auto Pilot system.

General Comments:

Due to hefty tax regulation on E320, I loaded this E240 with all available options (Euro 38000 car + Euro 30000 options), it looks stunning.

The only lack of options is Remote Boot Opener and DISTRONIC (cannot possibly used in Indonesia due to congested traffic)

Ride from AIRMATIC DC is superb, give you sense of floating.

The power from 2.6 liter is marginal, and it seems to have low geared transmission.

Marginal Fuel economy.

Stunning Looks with ARAGONITE Blue in AVANTGARDE trim. 17 inch double spoke helps the appearance.

Panoramic Roof and ambient lightning gives the car airy interior.

Bi Xenon Lights are superb, as does as the Sound System (HARMANN-KARDON)

Overall a good car, but could do with more power to match its look.

I wish I could own E320 with these kinds of options, but since I mainly use it for urban driving, I'm more than happy with my decision.
