2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS Spyder 3.0 from North America

Summary:

Sweet

Faults:

I hit a bad pot hole, and broke the rim and front right strut.

General Comments:

I love the looks and reliability, but always thought it needed a turbo, and I just purchased one and I am in the process of installing it.

Next will be working on handling, but the money I've spent, I feel it will be well worth it.

2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS 3.0 from North America

Summary:

My 2003 Eclipse GTS is awesome, very fast

Faults:

Um the car is very good. It hasn't caused me any problems yet, even though I like to mess around a lot, like speed up to 130, highest I've gone is 137, very smooth, nothing like car shaking terrible.

But what I really want is to find a turbo for 2003 Eclipse GTS. I just can't find a turbo for it, and I really want one. Oh by the way, my car just has an intake, exhaust and headers, that's it.

General Comments:

What I really love about the car, is it handles like a beauty, nothing like my last car, shaking like crazy at more than 120 haha... I just need some rims and a turbo, that's all I need to be satisfied with my car.

2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT 3.0 V6 from North America

Summary:

A great car to own and drive, just needs a little work after a lot of miles

Faults:

There's a problem with the relay switch on the car that causes the car to die when the heat or air is turned on. The only way to keep the car from dying (minus fixing the relay) is to keep the RPM's at around 1500.

Only the dash speaker on the car works. All the other speakers are disconnected due to faulty wiring.

The paint is oxidizing rapidly on the car, so while the car should be black, it's got white patches on the rear near the spoiler and along the side fenders.

General Comments:

This is a great sports car. Despite the cars faults, I love driving the car. There's a good deal of power from the V6 motor.

The steering is a little loose, but the car handles well enough and is easy to steer if taking a corner fast.

The semi-auto transmission is quick to shift and very smooth. It's also very easy to use. A lot more convenient than a manual transmission. I can drive the car as either/or.

Car is VERY good looking, and with a few mods to the body, the car will be amazing.

2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS 6 cylinder from North America

Summary:

Fun, reliable, and stylish way to get around!

Faults:

As of right now, the only thing wrong with it is a slight clunking/rattling noise coming from underneath. I can't tell if it's something with the suspension, or if something is actually coming loose from underneath the body. I only hear it when I'm going less than 20 mph, and it's not very loud. It's just loud enough for me to notice it. It's almost as if something is rapidly rocking back and forth as the body of the car adjusts over the bumps and curves. This is just normal wear and tear.. I live in Minnesota and we have tons of potholes! Any ideas as to what it may be?

The steering wheel also vibrates when I reach about 60 mph. I'm thinking I need my tires aligned/balanced, or I have a bent rim somewhere. The vibrating is a tad annoying, but I will survive.

Other than that, absolutely nothing has gone wrong with it!

General Comments:

I'm pretty picky about my cars, but this is such an awesome car! I'm still trying to get used to how much power the thing has. It's VERY reliable, handles very well, and the sound system is great! I get quite a few looks from other drivers on the road when they see my car coming too.

The interior is very stylish! I love how everything is set up on the dash. All of the controls are easy to reach, so you don't need to take your eyes off the road to adjust the volume. I have the GTS model which comes with knobs on the back of the steering wheel to adjust the volume and change stations on the radio which I found to be a nice touch! The seats are VERY comfortable if you have the leather interior. And the two-toned black on blue is very nice. I was also surprised with how roomy it is! I'm 6'5" tall, and I can fit comfortably in the driver's and passenger's seats. As for the back seat however, forget it! It's pretty much non existent. But I don't haul very many people at one time, so it doesn't bother me.

My only other complaint about the car is the PREMIUM UNLEADED FUEL ONLY. I didn't realize when I bought the car that I needed to put premium fuel into it until I filled up for the first time, but it's really not that much more expensive than regular fuel. I don't dare put anything BUT premium into it now because I don't want to cause problems with the engine (not that it will, but I don't want to take the chance). It runs great and I want to keep it that way! Although, I don't get the greatest gas mileage (22-24 mpg). But it's totally worth it for me.

I have about 65,000 miles on the car now and the engine runs like new! I do have to add.. I LOVE the stock exhaust system on the car! I'm not much for those loud obnoxious mufflers that you see people sporting on their little hondas. But the stock exhaust on the Eclipse GTS is great! It's loud enough to be heard, but you won't hear it coming down the road from a mile away. It's a very classy/sporty car altogether. I love it!

THIS IS A GREAT CAR! It's reliable, sexy, comfortable, and so much fun to drive! If you are even thinking about getting an Eclipse, I would highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed!
