1990 Mitsubishi Galant 2.0 gasoline from North America
Faults:
After 126,000 miles, besides normal maintenance, the only thing I found unusually wrong is the water pump has been replaced twice.
General Comments:
After more than eight years and 126,000 miles, I have no intention of getting rid of this car. I have had four cars, purchased new, to last at least 100,000 miles. The Galant is by far the most reliable. The only part about it I don't like is the design of the horn.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I am very happy with my '90 Galant. The engine is fine, but only now after 14 years the exhaust needs to be replaced due to rust. I have owned this car for 12 years and I love it.

I recently bought a 1990 Galant with low miles (94k), now it has 97k. A common problem with older Mitsubishis (notably Galant and Diamante models) is the problem with smoke coming from the exhaust and oil leaks from the engine, my car has both these problems. I paid $140 (parts and labor) to have a new valve cover gasket, that made the problem less, but not go away. This car is surprisingly a good drive, handles and accelerates decent (considering it only has 102HP, it does only weight around 2600lbs though). I will write a full review when I put much more miles on the car.

I agree. The design of the horn on my 1990 Galant is also poor. You must press heavily with both hands which is obviously dangerous.
Other than that, my soon-to-be eleven year old Galant has more than 187,000 miles. Yes, the water pump needs to be replaced along with the timing belt (every 60,000 miles); but I've had no major surprises. My mechanic tells me I should get at least 250,000 miles.
