1997 Mitsubishi Galant ES 2.4L 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

A very good car for anyone who likes a quick, comfortable machine

Faults:

After installing an aftermarket stereo, the power locks only have a 5 second memory after the key is turned off.

Also after installing the stereo the dome light has failed to work.

General Comments:

I love the ease at which the car handles, it has a very nice turning radius, and great acceleration. You get the power of a 6 cylinder with the gas mileage of a 4 cylinder.

1997 Mitsubishi Galant ST (Legnum) 4WD 1.8 GDI from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Handles well and looks good but guzzles a bit of gas

Faults:

The clutch slips on sustained inclines.

General Comments:

Interior is comfortable.

Open road driving is very smooth.

Suspension is very stiff.

The 1800 engine doesn't have adequate power for the size of the vehicle.

Tends to struggle up inclines like an older model vehicle.

With the size of the car and the four wheel drive system, the 1800 engine tends to be a little underpowered. This most likely leads to the cars higher level of fuel consumption.

Very nice shape.

Handles cornering very well.

1997 Mitsubishi Galant ES 2.4 liter from North America

Summary:

Love it to death

Faults:

I installed a set of Nokya hyper white headlights in it and I blew the connector for the bulb. I would advise a different type of bulb.

My belts took a few times to be properly tightened.

General Comments:

My car is fast and has satisfied me fully. I can beat all Civics including stock SI's and Accords, and I have done no mods to my car as of yet.

Most large trucks like to think they can beat you *ahem Z-71 crew*, but they can't. I shift my car even though it is an automatic and it seems to actually not care. Just of course remember to shift at all times.

Pretty bold statements. Put your money where your mouth is.

Not really a bold statement. I have found that the Gallants are quite nippy and nimble, combined with handling.

As for the Civics, they are not fast, vtec or not Si or not. Only the Preludes Torneos and anything with Type R .)
