2011 Mitsubishi Galant SE 2.4L MIVEC from North America
Summary:
A proven, if somewhat outdated mid-sized sport sedan
Faults:
Noise (loud clicks) in the audio system - radio has been replaced, but it did not fix the problem.
General Comments:
Good value in the SE trim - which includes sunroof, Bluetooth, built in Nav, rear view camera, 650W stereo (a problem, see above), 18" alloy wheels.
Very good blend of ride and handling - sticks well for a FWD, and the ride is firm but not harsh.
Interior looks outdated and cheap, but actually the displays and controls are logically placed, and work well.
As stated in another review, the SE seat fabric is a crumb magnet, but the seats are comfortable, and they seem durable enough.
Engine noise is very noticeable, but it has adequate power, especially if you use the manual shift feature of the 4 speed AT.
Decent fuel mileage - real world I get 20-21 MPG in the city, and 28-29 MPG on the highway (cruising at 75 MPH).
A decent sedan from the early 2000s, which you can still get today at an early 2000s price after rebates and allowances.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I just bought a 2011 Galant SE leftover.. MSRP was $25,002. I paid 18,299, and got 11,750 for my trade in.
I hope the Galant is everything people say it is... owners seem to love them. The seat is not very comfortable, seems very firm; maybe I will get used to it. I needed a larger car that is reliable and cheap. This seems to be a good pick.
