1984 Mitsubishi Montero 4WD 2.6 from Japan
Summary:
Only buy new one with a good dealer warranty (you'll need it)
Faults:
Transmission and 4WD transfer case went bad during the 1st week of ownership.
During the 2nd month, the flywheel and the starter both broke.
At best, the vehicle gets 13 mpg around town. Don't know about the highway mpg, as I wouldn't trust it enough to take it on a long trip.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

You probably didn't do your research first on the vehicle conditions. I own a 1988 with manual transmision and the odometer is right now at 327,000, engine was rebuilt at 300,000. Transmision and dif's have never been touched and it rides like a new car.
