1994 Nissan 100NX 1.6 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Stylish and ultra economical!

Faults:

Needed new alternator and starter motor at the end of winter.

Also, I fear a new clutch is needed soon!

General Comments:

This car is fun, sexy and economical! We picked it up for 610 pounds with a FSH and it has been great. Definitely not a banger.

Only issue is the age of the car and the corrosion on the underbody, and the need for welding (we live in a cold and wet country!)

Having said that, the main body work is in lovely condition. The Targa roof comes off and looks brilliant in the summer time.

Also, the post 1993 model (injection, not carburetor) is much more economical.

1994 Nissan 100NX Manual from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Future Classic!

Faults:

Not much; worn bushes, erratic idling, parcel shelf clips broke - but that's it.

Next service should sort all that, except the shelf.

General Comments:

Getting rarer and rarer, and will be a future classic. Solid reliability, good enough handling and performance from the excellent 1.6 engine. Nasty interior trim, but can live with it. Poor turning circle and a thief's dream. Make sure you get a good alarm/immobilizer.

With roof off in summer, it turns heads and most people are not sure what the hell you're driving - but that's their loss as it's a crackin' drive near the red line (loves to be driven on the limit, but will sulk if you tip about in it).

Happy new year, not long had one, bit sad though I love automatics, managed to get one.

I totally agree with what you have said, so so lovely to drive, though I am really sorry no one seems to like them and yes they are disappearing too quickly, they seem to be breaking up very much so for no reason, get the word out, if I had enough money I would be buying them all up.

1994 Nissan 100NX from UK and Ireland

Summary:

T-bar Terrorist

Faults:

Not much really, small leak in the automatic gearbox feed pipe (a new pipe sorted that out!)

Water pump developed a leak at 102,000 miles.

General Comments:

This car is an absolute bargain.

I only paid £850.00 for this car and after 2 years, it still brings a smile to my face! Forget your mr2 Mk1, this is the baby to buy.

Sporty, quick and reliable.

OK, people do wonder what type of car it actually is, but it gets you noticed! Cheap as chips to run and to insure, go on, look in Auto-trader, buy one!!!

1994 Nissan 100NX 1.6i from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A great, sexy, sporty bargain coupe!

Faults:

Just after purchasing the car the battery had to be replaced.

After 75,000 miles replaced disk brakes and pads.

Air inlet switch is stuck since purchasing car.

The car needed a new speed sensor when I bought it.

General Comments:

My favorite car. I love it. It has great looks, good performance and is so reliable. Most people don't know what type of car it is as Nissan only made about 50,000. Some people assume it's a 2.0 liter sports car.

Its not very comfy if 2 people are sitting in the back, but the front seats are very comfy and spacious, ideally seat 3 in the car. The engine is great and will never let you down, all this car needs is bigger alloys and a CD player (got the CD player, getting the alloys soon).

My 100nx looks great all in white and still looks only 2 or 3 years old. This is a very under-rated car and can be picked up for a bargain I bought mine for £1200! Also this car becomes ultra sexy in summer when you have the roof off. I am trying to really look after this car because most will do over 300,000 miles!

1994 Nissan 100NX 1.6 injection from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Reliable, but sometimes expensive

Faults:

Air inlet switch has broken as usual.

Windows rattle when partly open.

Parcel shelf hinges broke (twice!)

Small leak from roof during heavy rainfall.

General Comments:

Apart from the above, the car is very reliable... only spent 200 quid on a new alternator in the last 2 years.

The car is quiet, even after 100,00 miles the engine purrs like a kitten.

Its also very easy to service by yourself, something people often don't realize.

It has also passed the MOT straight off for the past 3 years.

1994 Nissan 100NX 1.6 Twin Cam 16v from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A wonderful fun car, with four usable seats

Faults:

Nothing has failed on the car in three years of use.

General Comments:

The car is so inexpensive to run and so much fun to drive, albeit without having any real power.

The boot, even with the rear seats in situ, is capacious.

I love it.

1994 Nissan 100NX 1.6i petrol from UK and Ireland

Faults:

Air lever stuck (surprise). Clonk from rear suspension which I hope will be soon fixed.

General Comments:

Looks superb in blue metallic. Have not had chance to take the roof out yet due to lousy British weather.

1994 Nissan 100NX 1.6i from Finland

Faults:

Only minor things, like:

Air recycle lever jammed.

Parcel shelf hinge broken.

General Comments:

Reliable, incredibly good looking for it's price (I still think so after owning it for three years) and quite inexpensive to maintain. Not the most comfortable car, though. Paintwork seems to be quite prone to scratches.
