1995 Nissan 200SX SE from North America

Summary:

Good reliable car for younger people

Faults:

Seats have started to wear.

Had to fix both visors, as the metal/plastic piece inside broke.

Had to fix my timing belt and the pulley that it runs on as it fell right off.

Shifts horribly some times.

General Comments:

Love the car, had really good gas mileage, highway and city. Comes in really cool colors! (mine's bright purple)

Other than the problems I had with it, I didn't mind it. Would love to keep driving it, but got into an accident and the trunk got completely smashed in.

Where is the timing belt in a 200SX? Mine had a timing chain.

If it shifts hard, it is time for a new clutch.

Had one for 11 years and 180000 km; was great car and cheap to run.

1995 Nissan 200SX Base 1.6 from North America

Summary:

Awesome car

Faults:

Blower motor resistor replaced at ~140k miles.

Starter needs to be replaced now (185k miles), but works when hit with pliers - I know I need to replace it, but no time.

General Comments:

Awesome car, just put gas and drive it, and it's great on gas.

1995 Nissan 200SX 1.6 from North America

Summary:

Excellent economy car

Faults:

150k miles.

Front struts and CV boot replacement.

158k miles.

Fuel injector for # 4 cylinder.

Spark plugs. (general wear)

AC does not get cold. I will have it repaired this spring.

General Comments:

Excellent car to drive. 7000 miles in one month in 2007.

34 to 38 mpg, 34 mpg at 75-80 mph is impressive in my book.

The 1.6 liter engine has excellent acceleration, 5 speed does help with this. Much stronger than my 91 Escort with a 1.9l engine. The Escort was problem free for me.

Tires last extremely well on this car.

Interior is in excellent shape. Body is also in excellent shape. No external rust at all.

Spray the locks once a year and they still work as good as new.

No wind noise from the door seals.

I am currently looking to buy another one for my daughter to drive.

I do not baby the car at all. I drive it daily and would not trade it for anything.

I own a base 200SX with a completely stock GA16DE (1.6) 5 speed FWD with over 200000 miles. I perform routine service and tuneups.

And although it was never intended to be a "race car" I race mine and surprisingly I eat a lot of souped up Hondas, Acuras and Subarus regularly. I've only lost 3 1/4 races (to the same car all 3 times) out of over 150.

This car can be the perfect commuter car, beginners car, or for guys like me, a stock street rocket.

This a incredibly solid car. I've had to replace parts due to running it hard, but use stock spec replacement parts and this car simply outperforms any car on the road, whether 1/4 mile, road, track, mountain runs, or open highway runs. It will do what you want it to do with great performance, comfort and dependability. And parts are cheap and readily available, making it an outstanding vehicle in every manner of speaking.

1995 Nissan 200SX SE 1.6 from North America

Summary:

I am lucky to own a car at all

Faults:

Alternator was replaced by previous owner.

Replaced CV boot and axle.

Glove box handle is broken (my fault).

Rear left side of seat has detached somehow and is now raised.

Trunk key hole doesn't work.

General Comments:

I love the initial pick up this car has. Overall I've never had fun driving a car until this one. I sometimes can't wait until I'm behind the wheel shifting gears.

2 door can be a hassle, but rear seating is spacious enough that I would be comfortable back there and wouldn't be hesitant to travel in this car with 2 people in the back.

Worth spending money on.
