1996 Nissan 200SX SE 1.6 liters from North America

Summary:

A reliable, but very small car.

Faults:

About 95000 miles, the air conditioner compressor with clutch bearings went out. It cost about 275 dollars for the part. When it froze up the serpentine belt went with it. The belt was only 15 dollars though. This is the only thing that went wrong with this car since we've had it. Aside from brakes and things of that sort.

General Comments:

This is a totally reliable car. It worked wonderful for us. The only reason we are selling it, is because we had a baby and we need more room. This is a really great car for someone with out kids. It doesn't have much get up and go. When you do get it going fast, it has no problems staying at high speeds.

1996 Nissan 200SX SX 20L turbo from South Africa

Summary:

An awsome vehicle

Faults:

So far the only thing that I found wrong is the grabby clutch 1st thing in the morning.

General Comments:

The power is superb. It handles very well around tight twists and even better in the wet. it is a comfortable car to be in when on the open road. You can hardly hear any road noise in the cabin. I am averaging 9.5 liters to 100KM.

1996 Nissan 200SX SE 1.6 from North America

Summary:

Great little car!

Faults:

Since I got the car, the only things I have had to replace are the tires, the battery and the brakes, which are all expected for a car with this much mileage.

General Comments:

I think the seats are comfortable.

It retains its value quite well.

The interior of the car was well done. It still looks as good as new.

The gas mileage is excellent!

The only problem is that the acceleration is not that great, but once you get it there, it keeps going!

I have had my 1996 Nissan 200sx for one year. I had to replace the alternator and the tires and brakes as well. Besides that it is a great little car. The seats are comfortable and the gas milage is wonderful. I agree about the acceleration, it's not a 0-60 in 3 second car, but it will move. Boy will it move! I think it is also very roomy. I am almost 6 feet tall and very big boned and I think this little car is a perfect fit for me. I give it an A+!

1996 Nissan 200SX SE from North America

Summary:

Reliable

Faults:

This car is great. I have not had any problems at all.

General Comments:

The only thing that I would like to change is the horsepower. It's pretty fast from 40-60mph but after 60mph, it seems as though it does not want to go anymore. I have not had any problems in the ice, snow, or rain. The brakes are very strong.

93 octane, these cars left japan wanting 97 octane minimum. I don't know where you are from, but the worst grade petrol you can get in the uk is 95 octane, with some places now stocking 99! Maybe this is why you have poor running experiences!

Above poster must be talking about the RWD 200SX. It's a different car here. Ours is basically a Sentra coupe.

Only 87 octane is required for ours.
