1990 Nissan 240SX 2.4 Liter I-4 from North America
Summary:
A refreshing alternative to the Cliche Civic
Faults:
Exaust Heat Shielding rattled due to rust when bought.
Sterio was blown.
Windshild washer fluid pump needs replacing.
Rear spoiler caused rust in hatch and was removed.
Brake system as a whole is weak. An aftermarket, 300zx, or Q45 brake upgrade highly recommended
General Comments:
This car represents a ideal example of a high schooler's car. It's good-looking, handles great and isn't too slow. The often denounced KA24 truck engine has bulletproof reliability, it can be thrashed like nothing else and still starts every time. The insurance isn't too expensive and mileage is pretty good. The only negative points of the car is its age and the confidence you gain driving it. You wish you could have owned it when new and its comfortable cruising speeds are never at or below the speed limit. Winters are a fun challenge, all-season tires help a ton. Hard to think of any new cars that offer this combination of lightweight 2+2 RWD "sport"compact perfection.
A great daily driver.
