1991 Nissan 300ZX GS 3.0 24-valve twin cam from North America

Summary:

A land rocket for used car price!

Faults:

No problems to report yet.

General Comments:

For three years I drove an 83 Volvo, once I stepped in the 300zx, I fell in love, an its been great ever since. The car sticks like glue to the road, and absolutely flies through the gears. It's exclusivity and rarity are proven by looks from other drivers as well as thumbs up or waves from fellow 300zx brothers. An excellent car that can be found at an excellent price, it is one of the least known good deals in the used car market, if you're looking for a fast, fun, an exhilarating sports car for a relatively low price (anywhere from $4000-20000 depending mileage, model, and condition). It was made well further than its time and is a true collectible!!

1991 Nissan 300ZX Z32 3.0 twin turbo from North America

Summary:

It's Z best car money can buy!

Faults:

So far I've had no problems with my Z.

General Comments:

My 300Z is perfect in every way.

This is my first foreign vehicle. I'm 18 and I've had a Probe, Plymouth Laser, and a Chevy Camaro, all of which let me down. My Z is reliable (so far).

This car is very, very fast and handles like it's glued to the pavement.

The interior is comfortable, even for someone as tall as me (6'3").

Everyone wants a race in a car like this! I love my Z!

It does 160mph on the speedo.

It looks brand new (when cleaned)

Not everybody owns one (big craze in the UK with Scooby Doo's) nice to own something different.

1991 Nissan 300ZX 3.0 twin turbo from North America

Summary:

A rice burner to be afraid of

Faults:

The clutch went out at 111,000.

The thermostat went at a little over 123,000.

That's all I had go wrong.

General Comments:

The car will fly if it needs to and handles any curve that gets in the way.

It has a sleek look to it like it says "stay out of my way".

Number one question asked is "how much did it take to make the inside look like this?".

The anwser is "it came from the factory like this".

Their response "oh, wow, that's nice!"

THEY ARE TOO HEAVY, not reliable, fast - but not quick from a start, many single turbos can beat them, 5.7 genIII kills them. I have driven a 300ZX TT 2 seater 5 speed with 15psi, many times, believe me, NOT GOOD. If the dealer who should sell you a 300ZX is your friend, he will not let you buy it (happened to me).

1991 Nissan 300ZX SeqTurbo V6 3L from North America

Summary:

A jet car, with jet costs

Faults:

Timing belt change at 68000.

Timing belt change at 132000.

Fuel injector replacements at 97000.

Turbo went out (and oddly my friends as well almost at the same time) at 83000.

There's another problem I have not been able to identify.

General Comments:

You have to let the turbo cool off after driving.

This car has been expensive to keep running properly.

So quick, it won in a race against visible light!

Considering that the problems you had occurred at such high mileage, you should be less critical of the car. Nissan is a good company and they make quality vehicles. You just happened to have bought a 300z just before the stuff started going bad. Good decision to buy one, though.

By the way there was a recall on the fuel injectors, if you didn't know, for the Z32.
