1994 Nissan Altima GXE 2.4 litre inline 4 cylinder from North America
Summary:
A great first car, that has a ton of spunk for its size; a perfect choice
Faults:
When bought used, the included tires were/are really cheap.
The cruise control works 10% of the time.
The bumpers are really prone to scratches and scrapes.
In wet weather, it is hard to get out of first gear before slipping.
The factory stereo is terrible and a $150 replacement system is necessary.
The stick shift and the steering wheel get hot very, very fast, and can scorch you if you are not careful.
General Comments:
The car transitions between gears like a dream.
It has been forgiving ever since I learned stick on it, and taught my friends how to drive stick on it.
It revs very high, and you can go 60 MPH in 3rd if you need to or want to. I can make the car go 0-60 MPH in a blazing 8 seconds, and I am sure I could get it faster.
The air conditioning gets cold really fast. Overall, the climate control is above average.
Everything is very responsive, including the braking system. If needed, the anti-lock brakes kick in immediately, stopping the car on a dime.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

How many miles did the car have when needing a new distributor cap? I'm thinking of trading my 1994 Ford Ranger (which runs nicely) for a 1994 Nissan Altima GXE and I've heard rave reviews, but I sure can't afford $1200 to fix an old car.
