I have a 1999 Nissan Altima GXE, with 140,000 miles on it. Recently my car has been unreliable. I was going to get some winter maintenance parts for the car, and without note, the gas pedal would not make the car move; it would bog down/spit and sputter. My father come to help me fix the car; really he made it worse that day. Ended up blowing the exhaust apart. After getting it home, ripping both bumpers off, because people do not know how to put cars on tow dolly, I started the inevitable. The car just quit starting. I bought a new distributor cap, rotor, plugs, wires and fuel filter. Also add in the the tools needed. Right around $300.00 the car finally started. Although it does not stay running.

It will run in high idle for the needed time, but after that it starts to bog. Try to press the gas pedal down and the car just bogs and tries stalling faster. When it stalls, it will not start for about two hours. I need my car, although do not have money for a mechanic. There is no check engine light on for anything. Thinking that maybe it will need new fuel pump or MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor. Please email me at dodgecharger2011@gmail.com, if you have any idea of what may be wrong with it now. Also put in about Nissan Altima, so I do not delete it.

Hey, I have a 1999 Nissan Altima GXE. I just did the oil change, and added 3 quarts of oil because the guy at Napa told me to. This seems like to little oil for a 2.4 liter engine. How much oil do you put in your '99?

Of course the oil filter is under the car.

I have a 1999 Nissan Altima GXE... Yeah I had some minor things done to it like an alternator and so on, but the engine, tranny and really expensive things never happened. This car is the most reliable car I have ever owned.
