I have Nissan Laurel 1983 model, still in very good condition and very strong, but the only problem is the back wheel shock absorbers. Can any one give an idea if there are numbers or code to ask at the shop when I want to buy? Thank you all.

Hi,
When I asked for Laurel parts at the shop, I told them the car model (Nissan Laurel) and the year it was made (e.g. 1986). Also, if you know the engine code, maybe it could be useful (LD28 in my case, for the 2800 CMC diesel engine) and the codename for the car, e.g. C31, C32 etc. If yours is from 1983, it probably is a C31.

I'm the original reviewer of the car.
The clock is now showing ~228.000 km, 8000 since I bought the car. Since I changed the front shocks, I had no problems with the car, I only had to adjust the valves once. That's all.
My only problem is that I hit a deer; I can't find a replacement headlamp. The dealer would charge me 400 euros for one. Ridiculous!

Greetings everyone!
I'm the proud owner of a '86 Laurel SGL with LD28 engine and 4g automatic transmission. it's a great car, very comfortable and solid.
I just think it's a little slow..
So my question is: Can the automatic transmission stand the torque of a RD28 TD engine? does anyone have experience with this?
I love this car so if there's any chance that it might not work out I won't try it.

I have owned my 1987 Nissan Laurel SGX since new. It has done only 70,000 Miles (I had a business and used my van mostly), but the underside has let me down (the seals are going). Anyone know where I might sell the Stainless steel Exhaust I had made for it?

Hi again :)
I repaired the front of the car this weekend.
I changed both the shock absorbers and the springs.
I took them from my C31 Laurel and they fitted perfectly.
I also checked the bushes, but I found no problems. The ball joints are OK, the bearings too, I only had to clean them and put them back.
Now the car handles extremely well, I'm very very pleased with it.
After all this, I can say that the car is in 99% working condition.
I love it!
