1993 Nissan Pathfinder SE 3.0L from North America

Summary:

Old and reliable

Faults:

Brakes replaced every 25-30,000 miles which is normal.

A/C compressor after 105,000 miles which is pretty good.

Still has the original exhaust at 113,000 miles. Very good.

Runs like a top.

General Comments:

This truck is very reliable.

Except for normal tune ups, belts, and brakes, I've hardly replaced anything.

An American truck would be falling apart at 60,000 miles.

115,000 miles on it now. I hear they will get over 200,000 no problem.

"An American truck would be falling apart at 60,000 miles."

Plenty of reliable American trucks (on this site alone) running at least twice the mileage your Pathfinder has. It all depends on how you look after them (Japanese vehicles included).

Faults:

-Warped front rotors after 12,000km. (Warranty)

-Replaced the Heater Thermostat because of the lack of heat when it got below -20C. They were sent to Canada initially with only a 180 Degree Thermostat. They now have the dealerships replace these low heat thermostats with a 195 degree if you bring it to their attention. (Warranty)

-Had the front boot seals replaced because of cracking. (Warranty)

-Battery replaced. (Warranty)

General Comments:

According to the Kelly Blue Book on vehicles, this is the "Best of its Class" for this year (1993). The vehicle is a pleasure to drive, and has never let me down. It is well constructed and the sound system is awesome for a factory package. They could have put in a few more horsey powers when they were putting it together, however, they have learnt over the past couple of years to do just that. The hp and torque have been upped, and it gives the vehicle a little more jump. I would highly recommend anyone considering an SUV, that this is one that is well worth its money if you can find someone willing to part with theirs (the 1993 Model year). My wife drives ours, and feels very safe when wheeling around in traffic. The vehicle (owned since new) has only got 75,000km on it, and still looks and smells like new. Try and find one for yourself.

It's the best vehicle ever made. I love it and if I had the money I would buy another one of the newer models.

I have passed 100k miles on my odometer and it still runs great and looks great. Whoever designed and made the vehicle had real passion for what they were doing. I am not a car fanatic but this car is very reliable.
