A very noble car.

Reliable all around.

Cheap to maintain.

The height of the trunk could have been a lot taller for a better look, but nevertheless a true best friend.

Front seats very confortable, back seats not so.

Picks up speed relatively good for a 1.6 engine.

1993 Nissan Sentra Limited Edition XE from North America

Summary:

This car is efficient, reliable, safe, and the years treat it well

Faults:

I needed new struts at about 115,000 to 120,000 miles.

I've needed an alignment since I had the car.

The CV joint snapped at about 130,000 miles and cost $300 to fix.

The exhaust system putters due to being rear ended.

At times when I'm turning (mainly left hand turns) my car stalls in traffic.

There is some rust on the back of the car and the right side by the back tire.

The speakers needed to be replaced.

The glove compartment door fell off and had to be fixed.

The trunk was leaking through one of the taillights and is now fixed.

The rear defroster stopped working correctly at about 125,000 miles. It needs to be pushed a few times for it to work because I don't know if it's working because the light doesn't go on.

General Comments:

This was my first car and I'm happy it was because despite of it's problems it is a very good and reliable car.

The problems are few and far between and the only thing has been a major problem is the snapping CV joint.

This car is great on gas. Gas is currently $2.19 in my area and it only takes me $20-$25 to fill it up.

The car is a little sluggish at times even when I put the pedal to the metal.

The brakes don't seem to work as well as they used too. The best way I can describe it is that they sink to the floor almost when being pressed.

Overall though this car is great. If treated well, this car will last you. I would definitely buy another Nissan and if it came down to it I would definitely get another 93' Sentra.

1993 Nissan Sentra XE 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

My best friend.

Faults:

At 89,000 miles the complete under carriage of the car had to be fixed. The muffler, catalytic converter, mid pipe and end pipe had to be replaced.

At 91,000 miles I had to replace the alternator.

At 94,000 miles the brakes started to go. I replaced the front end brakes first, but sold the car before the rear brakes needed to be replaced.

General Comments:

I only had the car for seven years, but she was a wonderful addition to my life. I affectionately named her Sophie, since her backseat was as comfortable as my sofa. Sophie took care of me well in the seven years I had her. I just recently sold her and bought and 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE. I am very happy with my Nissan driving experience which is why I opted to buy another Sentra. My Sophie baby was a good, clean, reliable and inexpensive car through two years of high school, four years of college and one year of post graduate study. Sophie was my first car and was a dream of a car. My car is the key to my sanity and independence. A lot of my life was lived in that car for the time I had her. Some people never get over their first love, I however will never get over my first car. Sophie always started in the harsh winters of the Northeast and was never too hot in the summers. She never left me stranded anywhere. I would highly recommend a Nissan to anyone. They cannot be killed. Sentras are however my favorite Nissan model. Sentras are fun, safe, reliable and economical cars. Good cars for anyone of any age.
