2003 Nissan Sentra GXE 1.8 from North America

Summary:

Awesome!

Faults:

Nothing!

General Comments:

Best car I ever had and I owned two Cadillacs in the past that were always breaking down even when new. Bought from FireSide Nissan in North Attleboro and I love the car! This is my first foreign car and I'm tough on a car, so if it lasts me it will last anybody! It's great on gas too.

2003 Nissan Sentra SE 2.5L from Mexico

Summary:

2.5 L needs more power and it's too low

Faults:

After not using the car for about a month I had to recharge the battery.

General Comments:

If you like speed and quickness better buy the V6 3.5 L version.

It's not that The 2.5 version does not run well, but sometimes you feel like you need just more power.

Great thing about my Altima it's just looks perfect and you feel totally safe driving it on the road.

For Mexico City It's too low, it hits on every speed bump.

2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R 2.5 i4 N\A from North America

Summary:

A decent package for under 20 grand

Faults:

Body ground effect was warped and replaced.

Engine hood and trunk hood needed to be aligned.

The cabin air filter needed to be replaced.

There is a bad exhaust noise starting to form.

The car cranks over about 4-5 seconds before is starts in cold weather.

The manual gear box grinds from 1st to 2nd when it is cold out.

The brakes have warped already at 12K miles. The wear pattern on the rotors are not even. The car vibrates at highway speeds.

The rear brakes make a clinking noise when cold.

A lot of air leaks in the cabin at highways speeds. It is very loud.

General Comments:

The car is fun to drive. It corners very well and it is zippy.

The 2.5l i4 has plenty of low end torque and the power is even through out the RPM range.

The 6 speed transmission is fun to play with and the 6th creates a low RPM for highway driving.

I can understand why the person was having all those problems since JD Power rated it the lowest in overall quality.

Everyone considering the purchase of a Nissan Sentra must also realize that the car is built in Mexico by unskilled workers... which is essentially as bad as purchasing a vehicle built by UAW employees!

2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V 2.5 from North America

Summary:

Sleeping sports car

Faults:

I had to recently replace my left front blinker.

General Comments:

This car will suprise any import or muscle car with a very quick blast off the line.

The looks are great, and the four doors make the cops look right past you.

How is a 4 door economy car from Nissan a "sports" car? Perhaps you should define sports car. There is more to it than simple power (I assume you have the V6, even so, it still has under 200 horsepower) BTW most true, bona fide sports cars are NOT front wheel drive (the Tiburon, most Acuras etc are not REAL sports cars) a real sports car has lots of power (300+) usually rear wheel drive (not a necessity, but makes for more fun driving) manual (no automatic will ever be a sports car) Sports car is over used now-a-days. Nothing that a teenage kid could afford is a sports car, cut and dry.
