1992 Nissan Stanza XE 2.4L from North America
Summary:
A quick and reliable Nissan
Faults:
Flex pipe replaced at 187,000 miles
Had to change left and right front axles at 195,000 miles
A few minor repairs earlier in the car's life, total of less than $500 spent on the car in maintenance (not including the axles)
Transmission went at 205,000 miles, have not fixed as of yet.
General Comments:
Bland styling.
Extremely quick acceleration for a 4 cylinder.
Basically a maintenance free car, passed around the family, with some members not even changing oil on time and myself constantly redlining the car after family pressured me into getting rid of it. Either that pushed it into the grave or it was just its time, but the car remains in my driveway with a bad transmission until I can get myself to repair or junk it. I would rate it higher on the reliability scale since it crossed 200,000 without any real repairs, but my 94 Honda Civic just crossed 311,000 and is still running strong. Japanese all the way. The stanza was replaced by the Altima in 1993.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Holy crap! You have one that lasted 300,000 miles?! I loved mine very much, but it took a lot of work to keep it running and the transmission gave out at 160,000 miles. Yeah, that's all it had on it. I loved that car so much though, I wish I still had it. It had the best interior of any car I've been in, and the engine ran exceptionally smooth after motor mounts were replaced. I miss it dearly, and wish I had another.
