2006 Nissan Sunny Ex 1.6 petrol from Egypt

Summary:

Nice family car

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong yet. It's still new.

General Comments:

Good points first:

The car feels very reliable, has a decent ride, and is quite luxurious for its price.

Horse power is quite good, and the car gives the impression of being able to pull its way on any slope with a full load.

Most of the common options are there, although for an unknown reason the antenna is manual!! You have to open the window and pull it up by hand.

The A/C is good, and does its job in the hot climate of Egypt.

The double color of the dash board is nice, and the seats are large and comfortable.

The car is very stable at all speeds, and takes corners quite nicely.

The trunk is quite roomy. Though the lid is a bit too light for my liking.

All in all, it gives a family car package.

Things that are not quite impressive:

Do not expect a racing car. The acceleration is not that impressive from 0 – 40 km/hr. It then picks up somewhat from 40 – 100 km/hr. The dealer says that this is the car’s normal behavior.

The bumpers look useless, and I do not want to think of what might happen if I go head to head with any car, or if a car crushes in my back.

Paint on the bumpers is not one of its strong points; it comes off easily with any scratch.

The car gives me 10 km/l on a mixed road (high road and in town), which is in my opinion less than average.

The engine is not as quiet as reported.

You are perfectly right in everything you said. Noisy... and the fuel consumption is high.

2006 Nissan Sunny Super Saloon 1.6 petrol from Egypt

Summary:

Luxurious for its price

Faults:

Nothing yet, it's only 3 months old.

General Comments:

The Car's engine is fast, 0-100 km in 13.5 seconds, great for a 1.6 A/T engine. The car has no problem when you suddenly want to accelerate, especially if Over Drive in on.

Seats are comfortable, wooden dash board is elegant, CD changer, several storage spaces defiantly come in handy.

The car is smooth and the engine is very quiet. I usually run on 1.5 - 2 rpm with no problem (just relaxing). Even when I press on the gas the engine is still relatively quiet. When I kick down, I reach 100 km in a couple of seconds.

However, I feel the car is a fuel guzzler, perhaps because I compare it with my older car 1.0 M/T. My Sunny consumes 8 km/liter during city driving, and 13 km/liter in highways.

Did you measure the 0-100 km/h on road or got it out of some book. I was unable to find this piece of information and although 13.5 sec is not so impressive in my opinion, I was expecting 11 sec. Yet even that I cannot achieve.

Do you feel that from 1st to 2nd shift it takes more time and that getting out of shift one is the bottle neck??

If needed you can e-mail me on nelraheb@yahoo.com

Thank you for your post.

13.5 seconds is true, I personally tried it on the highway at the outskirts of Cairo.

It's not very impressive, but this is no racing car, it's a family car and it's automatic.

I don’t remember exactly how it felt from 1st to 2nd shift, but I can tell you that I didn’t feel the acceleration when I was reaching 100 km/h.

Hey all

I bought this car on 21/7/2006, until now I made about 13200 km.

This car is good, but not like other tc or ml.

Do you mean moving the gear shift from the parking position to any others?

If yes, I have exactly the same problem, and I don't know if it's a defect or a weak point in the automatic gear box of this car.

I have the same problem with the Automatic gearbox, changing from P to any other gear.

The driver's seat is not comfortable, and causes pain to my right leg.

Otherwise, it's a good, reliable car.
