Faults:
The only major problem was the timing. It went out a couple of months after I got the car, but they recommend it be fixed around every 70,000 miles. It was relatively expensive ($600), but I love the car too much to worry about the cost.
I also had a head gasket replaced, and a head resurfaced, but at my own will.
The front rotors were bad as well, but they were inexpensive and a quick fix.
General Comments:
The 3.4L engine's in the Cutlass Supremes scream! These cars are extremely fast, very reliable and get around in any weather condition. Of course, if you have a Cutlass, you'd understand why a long straight road, no other traffic and a nice sunny day is when these cars will treat you best!
I also have the leather seating and power seats in my Cutlass, making this car very comfortable for the long drives that you'll always want to take!
Can be expensive to maintain, and most of the time need a dealer to do the work, but it's well worth it. Once everything is right, it's like having your own personal jet!

I own a 1992 oldsmobile cutlass five speed. I don't think too many were produced. I had it serviced regularly and it is very much fun to drive--everything was going well until I hit about 48,000 miles. It actually still is fun to drive, but 1) very expensive to service, 2) electrical problems, 3) many headlights, cruise controls, and the radio works some of the time.
When I was a teenager I heard you should sell a car before it hit about 48,000 miles--self fullfiling prophecy I guess. Bottom line--I am spending $2,000 grand and am going to keep it--at this point, why not?
