That is IMPOSSIBLE without major modification to the block-it is incapable to handle such power in stock form-even if you did get that power out of it, you would kill the transmission.

My dad just got me a 1995 Supreme SL 3.1L V6. I've added a K&N filtercharger which adds around 15 horses for only $30. I could tell the difference right away. Like the others, please tell me how you got it up to that much HP with only minor tweaks!!! Email me at Jensen185@aol.com.

Hey people, I don't think he meant 290hp (and if he did, sorry) but I think he meant 190hp because the 3.1L V6 is 160hp stock. There's nothing he can do to it to make it 290hp. Even if he added a turbo and refined the entire engine with performance parts, he can' get that much out of it.
Just saying it was probably a typo.

I agree with the typo idea cuz my grandma owns a 93' Cutlass and it's like 160hp I think, and it's also slow as hell and the transmission sucks on it.
290hp would blow the weak transmission to hell. I can barely get the engine above 4000rpms for god's sake. But, if this is true (290hp) PLEASE LEMME KNOW!!

Accully I have a 1994 4-door cutlass with a 3.1 litre in it, and stock they push out 145HP, and the engine itself would accully handle the power, its possible, the transmission could handle it, but you would have to tweak the computer to alter the way that it shifted, I changed the air induction, the injectors, the fuel pump, then throttle body, and made some computer tweaks and got about 210HP out of it, for about $300-$400 dollars, it'll go about 135mph, but I would recommend lowering the suspension, as at speeds over 100 the front end gets rather light.
