HELP!!

I have owned 4 Olds Cutlass Supremes, two 94's, a 95 & a 96 (ever since I first drove a rental in 1993/1994) - LOVE this car & wish they were still being produced!!

I went from the 94 to the 95, then the 96... realized I liked the 94 the most (gear ratio & cup holder), so my most recent purchase was two years ago - and it was a 94 Convertible for $5k with 100,000 miles - I've driven every one of them to over 200k before reselling... (but, I shoulda' never bought a convertible - wish I could trade it for a hard-top... I'm just not a sunshine, wind in hair kinda girl!).

I always keep a back-up set of replacement exterior handles due to the fact that they are made of pot-metal & eventually break!!

My PROBLEM - the handles I have (and the subsequent ones I've purchased) do NOT fit the Convertible!! They are about 1/4 too long & the screw holes to install are also set 1/4 inch off!!

I've called everywhere... does ANYONE know where to find these? Or even what the part number is?? Because the second one has now broke & I have to leave the window down & cover it (rainy Florida weather).

If I can't find them soon, I'm gonna just sell it to someone (there's a guy in town that owns at least a dozen & keeps buying them, running or not (probably for parts to restore as many as he can).

Any ideas?? Please email me: RaquelSRQ@aol.com

Thanks!!

I have a 94 Cutlass Convertible. 3.4 ltr -- cold starts are no problem at all. Started first crank after the winter no problem. The issue is WARM STARTS. It cranks and cranks before it will start. It's embarrassing. Anyone have any ideas? I have replaced the mass air flow and some other stuff to the tune of $1000, but is still hard to start once it's warm. Thanks.

Also looking to replace both front and rear quarter panels. Anyone know of a place in Canada or Ontario?

Glad to see everyone else loves this car. I have a 94 Cutlass Conv with the 3.4L, and have had this car since I bought it new off the showroom floor. I have loved this car as it's truly a head turner, and has been, for the most part pretty reliable. However I had Safelite come out and replace my windshield and they tore both weatherstrips on my A pillars, and now I have rain coming in my car. If anybody knows where to get the L and R one, I could really use them. Any help is appreciated.

Oh yeah, don't use Safelite, horrible job on my windshield!!!

I bought my wife her 1995 Olds Cutlass Supreme convertible with 3.4 new in fall of 94. She has put 175,000km on the vehicle and enjoyed "nearly" every km. She loves to drive the car, and she looks great behind the wheel, but it has been a challenge for me to love it too, due to the expensive repairs. 2 intake manifold gaskets, new rack & pinion steering being the most expensive, but lots of electrical repairs as well, including cruise control, power antenna, power windows & locks.

Now the power top is acting up, and we are always worried the next time we put the roof down will be the last. The engine has always burned a little oil, although it wasn't as bad when it was new as it is now.

The old girl is starting to fall apart now, with handles & knobs coming off, and the weather stripping leaking pretty bad. (I'm talking about the car!) We definitely feel we got our moneys worth out of this vehicle though, and she plans to keep driving it until it quits. The wife really loves this car.

I am the original owner of a 1993 olds cutlass convertible. Currently replacing the top and need weather stripping. Any suggestions?

WE bought our '94 "arrest me red" convert in '98 for $13,800 with 49,000 miles. She now has 91,000 miles. Since we have owned the car it has been garage kept and driven in dry weather.

The first six years of ownership were pretty care free. We replaced the timing belt on the 3.4 at 70k.

The second six years well, it is something different and expensive every year. The white top was the first to go, no big deal, you expect that with a rag top. 3 alternators, a couple of door handles, mystery oil loss (not too bad, 1 Qt per 3,000 miles).

Last year was painful, the window track in the passenger door just gave up. Since parts are hard to come by, I finally just purchased a whole right door from a salvage yard, and replaced the parts I needed. Now I have an extra white door sitting in the garage.

The biggest issue right now is the car is cold natured at first start up. The mechanic says it is a computer issue with the E PROM chip. Maybe. She does run well after warm up though. We also have the weather stripping on the windshield and rear windows issues.

I have had issues the A/C blowing out at floor level instead out of the dash, the mechanic said a loose vacuum hose was the problem.

I can't decided whether to sell her, for a Mustang convert or hold on a while longer. The car looks great, but I have this nagging feeling that something big and costly is going to break loose. I really like this site.

Thanks for letting me tell "our" story, Dan.

I recently bought a 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme convertible. I do not have the owners manual. The problem I am having is the top is a brand new one, but for some reason it will not go down. When I push the button for down, I can hear what sounds to be a motor running. Is there a fuse or some advice that someone may have for me? Thank you in advance.

Just today I ordered the windshield molding from "the cliphouse" that was suggested on the June 5th posting above.

I'll let you know when I get that installed.

I also spoke to Amanda, I asked about the rear quarter window molding. She, as above, stated that if I e-mail her a picture of it, with the dimensions, her company could probably match it. So I am now going to get the camera...

P.S. gave up on the Mustang, too small, too much $$$, but boy, o'boy that GT V-8 sure sounded sweet!

Convertible top issues, hear the motor running but no lift? Your hydraulic pump and or tubing is inoperative. Replace it, but avoid the dealership.

The second site is where I ordered mine from. And a mechanic put in for me. Cost around $400 in total.

"motor sounds like its running but no lift"

It is quite possible the motor may be low on hydraulic fluid. It uses ordinary automatic trans fluid. The pump sits directly behind the backseat; you have to remove seat to access it. Your hose (s) maybe pinched, or at worst the pump cylinder (s) may be blown. Good luck with that!

I have 4 convertibles I can get parts from, so if anyone needs something let me know, I'll see if I can help! rdy4luv1269@yahoo..

Oh yeah, there is a Chevy dealer on eBay with brand new, never been used 3.4 engines! Still in the crate! Dealer forgot they were in storage! I just bought one for my sons 94'vert. Looking @ delivery next week, will let you know!

Thanx for making the page! Robert!
