2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue 3.5L from Bahamas

Summary:

The car works fine

Faults:

I just received a car from my brother, 180000miles, it is running fine, but I just noticed that the gas gauge seemed to stop working and the mileage is no longer displaying on dashboard. Actually, there are no indications on the dashboard. Lights are working, signals are working, any ideas anyone?

2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue GL from North America

Summary:

This is the worst car I have ever owned.

Faults:

Car stalls while I am driving, if it happens once, it will do it 3 or 4 times in one trip.

ALL emergency lights in the dash stay on; mechanics have not been able to find a reason why.

Headlights dim when accelerating from a dead stop or when rolling up the power windows.

ABS comes on while driving - the pedal will click down so low to the floor I have a hard time sticking my foot under it to pop it back up in case I NEED to stop.

Passenger side power windows work when they want to, mechanics have no explanation for that.

A/C doesn't work on lowest setting, and now it will just not work at all at random times.

Front right turn signal works when it wants to, just not always when I use it.

Power steering pump has been replaced - the hoses that lead into and out of the pump had hundreds of pin holes in them that caused the leak; those parts were 'dealer only' and cost a small fortune.

This car had a VERY serious oil leak when I got it, all of the seals have been replaced and now it only leaks about 1/2 quart of oil a week if I have to drive a lot.

Gas gauge has never worked. I have to fill up every 250 miles, and that's pushing it.

General Comments:

Nearly every parts store has made all of these parts "dealer only", which makes repairs even more costly.

It is a 'good looking' car, but it is definitely not up there on my 'reliable' list considering how it stalls out while I am in motion.

I have had this car for over a year now, it's been in and out of repair to figure out what is going on with the emergency lights, brake issue and the stalling and so far no one has been able to definitively say what is wrong with it.

I have the same problems. I am scared to drive the car now. It has been parked for 3 years. I refuse to drive it. I was driving on 6 lane highway in Portland, and car just stops. All lights come on, and everything locks up and just stops. I have taken it too many dealerships, spent lots of money trying to get it to fix. No one can tell me anything. Gas gauge does not work. I also filled up every 250 miles. Would not recommend this car to anyone.

Faults:

I am in need of some advice. I bought this car in 2005 and YES the lights flicker, the battery terminal are corroding, the rotors and brakes have been replaced twice, and the back rotors are in need again, but my newest problem is: I was driving down the road one day and my radio, air conditioning, speedometer, and dash gauges STOPPED WORKING. No warning.

My blinker/lights work. My horn and all the bells and dings work and thankfully the car is running, but I have checked the fuses and they are fine.

Any ideas??? meengreen30@hotmail.com

Summary:

I like it if it was more reliable

Faults:

My car has been acting up for the last couple of months. I had my fuel injectors cleaned out and ever since, my car does not always start off the first time I turn the key. It eventually does. I have had it at several shops and no codes up come up, and they have checked everything they can think of. Any ideas?

General Comments:

I love the car if it would start for me all the time.

The only thing I can say is: Your fuel mileage. Has that went down a little since it started having the starting problem.

I know around here any way some shops are not cleaning the injectors properly and actually burning them. The needle and seat get messed up. Now also it can mess around with your plugs. I'd change plugs 1st then if you still have problems get the injectors pulled and tested, but at another shop. Don't tell them they were cleaned. They may notice the tell tale spray pattern and come asking you if you had them cleaned. Hope that helps.
