2007 Opel Astra OPC 2.0 turbo petrol from UK and Ireland
Summary:
Great value, great looking, great pace, but handling lets it down slightly
Faults:
Nothing has gone mechanically wrong with the car.
The Recaro seats are comfortable, but they "creak" a little where their bolted to the floor.
No wheel jack or spare wheel came with the car, just a puncture repair kit, I'd rather have the spare wheel, but I didn't get the choice here.
General Comments:
I love the looks of this car. The center tail pipe looks different, but good, but I'd have prefer-ed a double pipe system with pipes coming out either corner of the rear end.
I'm a little bit past the "boy racer" age, but this car has brought it back again and I feel it suits the slightly more mature boy racer look.
There's great sprint ability in this car, 0 to 100km in 6/6.5 seconds. That's brilliant for 35k euro new.
However the handling is a little scary at times, but I'm not one for ripping around back roads at crazy speeds so the handling is more than sufficient for my pace.
The room in the back is a little scarce, but that's not what you buy this car for.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I have an Opel Astra 1.3 diesel Enjoy model 2011. As you said, it is an amazingly smooth car when the engine is cold. When it gets warm, then sometimes I lose 40% of the power, then it becomes a tractor. I have told this to Opel, but they are unable to find the fault, as this is only a periodic fault. It is annoying that this happens without warning. Only answer I got from Opel is that it regenerates / cleans and you cannot stop it. I am very unhappy that I bought this car.
