Faults:

Motor was replaced at 160,000 miles by previous owner.

Motor caught fire around 299,000 miles. (not a product defect, but a poor mechanics oil changing job.) Replaced hoses and lines, and same engine continued to run fine.

Began to get 50 miles to the gallon... of oil at 300,000 miles.

At 310,000 miles, two piston rods snapped and head gasket blew... but was still drivable. (albeit very sloooooooowly.)

General Comments:

My Acclaim was the most reliable car I've ever had! It served me for over 310k!!!

The front-wheel drive handled wonderfully in the snow and ice.

The seats could get 'misshapen' (or custom-contoured, depending how you look at it) during long trips.

Practically all regularly changeable parts are located within reach and are easy to replace!

The car's interior controls were located in the most natural places! Very comfortable.

All in all, it is very difficult to express my appreciation and satisfaction for this trusty machine. Through fire or flood, my Acclaim never left me stranded. If Plymouth ever comes out with an 2010 Acclaim... I will order 3!

P.S. Even at the end, it was able to get to the junk yard on only two cylinders and a contrail of white and black smoke...

Faults:

I bought this car with only 61,000 miles on it. It currently has 181,000 on it and the following was replaced during that time:

Radiator

Valve cover gasket

Thermostat

Hoses and belts

Motor mounts.

General Comments:

This car is a true testament to time. I love this little car. I bought it from the original owner in 2000. Six years later and she's still running better than ever. This is the most reliable car I've ever owned. I drove it from Minnesota to Atlanta, Georgia twice in one month. Never gave me a problem. I put about 50 miles on it every day. The car is very comfortable. Fuel economy is great, averages about 28 miles per gallon. The handling is average for a sedan, but better than most. The ride is very smooth. By far one of the best Chrysler products ever made.

Faults:

The drivers seat has broken down a bit. It lays back a little now.

The clear coat has started to chip away along the hood line.

General Comments:

The car has served us very well.

At present, we have two car seat and a kennel riding in the back seat and still have a fair amount of space.

It has been through two accidents, but faired extremely well.

There have been no major problems, just regular maintenance.

I would recommend this car to anyone who is looking for a roomy, reliable car.

Faults:

The computer has gone twice. Other than that... only regular maintenance items like brakes and hoses, etc. Well worth the money we paid, and I intend to keep driving her until she won't go anymore. Definitely the most comfortable car for my back, and very roomy. The trunk is amazing, too. That will be hard to match we do sell. the car is a great starter car for anyone.

Faults:

I replaced the shocks and struts at 150k.

The alternator started to glow when running at 152k, replaced for $136.

The heater just doesn't get real warm.

I replaced all tune-up type items and got good results.

Front end makes some creaks.

The engine smokes due to a design flaw in an otherwise superior motor.

General Comments:

This car as far has served me very well so far and I believe that I just might get quite a few more miles out of my "bargain buy".

I wish more cars were made as reliable as the acclaim, the only other vehicle I had this reliable was an F150 pickup.

I see some people hate this kind of car, either they got a lemon or they are too picky and don't know a deal if was staring them in the face.
