1976 Plymouth Duster Feather 3.7L Slant Six from North America
Summary:
Buy it cheap, good mechanics, general construction is awful
Faults:
Frame cracked in half so I had to weld it up.
Low oil pressure at idle, needs oil pump.
Generally poor construction.
General Comments:
Bought this car for $20 after it had been sitting behind a barn since 1987.
Threw in a battery, gas down the carb, and it fired right up.
Whole body is rotted to hell. But it was a foot in the ground for 20 years.
Really gets the looks, fun car. Interesting to drive with no power steering or power brakes.
$20 well spent cause it gets and unbeleivable 31 mpg.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

The Feather Duster/Dart Lite is doubly rare now: low production compared to the regular Duster/Dart Sport, but also because they were sought out by drag racers for conversion due to their light weight and bare-bones equipment level, so not many left in original condition.
Though the reviewer's car sounds nowhere near worth restoring...

You have got a rare car. The Feather Duster package was in response to the fuel crisis of the 70's. That package and the equivalent Dodge, the Dart Lite, were built with maximum fuel economy in mind. It had no power options and minimal other options available, to keep the weight down.
