1990 Plymouth Grand Voyager LE 3.3 EFI from North America

Summary:

Simply great!

Faults:

The air conditioning was once recharged.

The water pump was replaced one time.

A belt was replaced because it showed wear.

Minor transmission upkeep work was done.

General Comments:

The '90 Voyager is a great mini-van. My report sounds almost too good to be true, but that's what this mini-van has been to me. That's why I've had such a problem with letting it go. It should also be noted that this vehicle has been through a lot. From my son slamming on the gas all the time, from me over-using the power-features, and us both cranking up the sound, we have not been easy on the Voyager.

The 3.3 engine is peppy and powerful. The van has great acceleration and can keep up speed easily. I have hauled about everything in this van, and it easily pulls campers and moving trailers. Even after loading it up with seven people and some cargo, I cannot notice much difference in acceleration or power. Even my son of 17 enjoys driving the van when he goes on trips with his friends (though I think he takes advantage of the engine a bit too much).

The van is also comfortable, at least for the front passengers. The lack of head supports in the back seats can get somewhat uncomfortable, but even with that, generally the van is comfortable for all passengers.

The sound system in the Voyager is great! I have premium sound with factory installed Infinity speakers. Several times my son tells my his friends ask if I have subs installed in my van!

The driving itself in the Voyager is great! When I first got the mini-van and it was three years old, I remember thinking how much it felt like it just flew around, and it hasn't lost this feel. The steering is tight and easy to handle, and the gas and brake pedals feel and are responsive.

I got the vehicle loaded with all options, including power everything. Not one power device has failed me or gotten sluggish.

My sister recently got a 2000 Voyager and I drove that a little, but I still like mine better! It will be a sad day when I decide I have to get a new vehicle, because I love this one so much!

1990 Plymouth Grand Voyager LE 3.3 V6 from North America

Summary:

Great performing, do anything, low cost van!

Faults:

I have had four water pumps, and the transmission finally died at 165,000 miles. That is my repair list for 201,000 miles!

General Comments:

This van is incredible! It is the most reliable van I have owned. It still goes into passing gear at 75 MPH on the interstate, gets great fuel economy, tows, and I can haul anything in my Grand Voyager LE. It has all the power options and I have had no problems with them at all. The only thing I did not like about this van is the paint which is fading bad, but hey, what can you expect after being outside for 11 years?

Chrysler hit a home run when they made this van. The engine still runs like new at 201,000 miles. This is one of the best vans ever! I would recommend this van to anyone!!!
