1984 Plymouth Horizon 2.2 from North America

Summary:

The reliable car

Faults:

The head gasket had blown when I first got it.

Had to replace the starter at 120,000 miles.

Just replaced the back struts at 125,000 miles and I still have to replace the back brakes.

General Comments:

I have to replace the whole exhaust and the exhaust manifold.

Mine is a 5-speed and it is a quick car.

It gets very good gas mileage (abou 23 to 28 mpg) depending on how I drive it.

Very reliable car, but for the age of the car ur probably going to run into problems, or course, but still a good running car.

1984 Plymouth Horizon 2.2 from North America

Summary:

An excellent car for winter driving

Faults:

My carburetor had to be replaced as well as the choke.

The car will shimmy at around 60 km/h.

Exhaust manifold needs to be replaced due to wear from shifting gears over the years.

The brakes don't seem to slow the vehicle down fast enough. (brakes won't lock up)

The kickdown gear doesn't seem to respond even after getting it repaired by professionals.

General Comments:

The Horizon is excellent in the snow, a must in Canada.

Very reliable and easy to drive.

Excelleration could use a little work.
