2001 Pontiac Aztek from North America
Summary:
It is different and unique - we absolutely love it; it's not ugly!!!
Faults:
The only problem I had was once an oil light kept coming on and when I took it in they found a faulty switch, which was replaced immediately at no charge to me.
General Comments:
I bought my 2001 Aztek in 2002 because I was upside down with my old van and they were trying to move the 2001 Aztek models off the lot. I had to work late and didn't have time to really shop, so I told the sales person to just find something that they could get me into and work the figures out for me. It was almost dark when I went in to try it out and I couldn't believe they were having me drive this awful, ugly vehicle! I sure hoped nobody I knew would see me. But when I got in and drove it I was so shocked at how beautiful the inside was and how well it drove.
The radio and CD controls on the steering wheel are really cool making it easy to adjust or change the music without even looking down. I like having a 6-CD changer so we can listen to a variety of music.
The hexagram which projects the MPH onto the highway in bright red letters while you're driving is such a neat idea. I never have to try to focus my eyes back and forth from the road to the panel to see my speed. And the cruise control is super convenient with just a tap on the end of the handle to set it.
My mother lives with me and it had to suit her too. The Aztek has grab bars on the front dash and on the side door frames. My mother has arthritis and it was perfect for her to pull herself in and get settled in place.
The adjustable heat/ac make it possible for mother to have it cool on her side while I have heat on my side. She's always hot, even in winter.
The pull out cargo tray in the rear is the neatest thing yet. You can open the tray and the netted compartments are ready to load with groceries - bag after bag, after bag, and they don't budge or roll around. We actually pulled the cargo tray out once and loaded a lift chair for my mother onto it, rolled it into the Aztek after folding down the two back seats, and we easily transported that huge chair to our house from the furniture store. It was perfect!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I hate to admit it, but this car is beautiful if you stare at it for a few seconds. I'm not kidding. I want to buy one for 10 grand. Don't know if I shold do it.

To the person writing about how ugly the Aztek is... might I suggest that the person driving the car is on the inside, which is most comfortable and you don't see the outside from there. BTW, I think it looks rather cool. I first saw the car on the Dark Angel Show and wanted one. I bought a new one in 2001 and haven't had to service it until now...6 years later! Not bad for an "ugly car."

"hexagram"?
Seems appropriate for a car named after a civilization that practiced human sacrifice...

Or the shape of an instrument in the dash cluster.

Before calling someone an idiot, why don't you try reading the review again. The writer did drive the vehicle and had the opportunity to evaluate it before making the purchase.
Maybe next time you might think before you put such a, well, idiotic comment in here.
