2001 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi supercharged 3.8 liter from North America
Summary:
Great car, crappy steering
Faults:
The steering is bad, let me say again, bad. We have had the rack replaced 3 times and are ready to go for number 4. GM is stonewalling bigtime as to be expected. I have done some research on this and I am not the only one with this problem. Other than this some minor trim issues not really even worth mentioning. My wife and I really love the car, its just the pesky steering noise every 5 thousand miles... keep you posted... can you say lemon law??
General Comments:
Great car... GM needs to step up and fix the steering issue or compensate us guys that dropped 30k +
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I agree with your comments. GM should step up to the plate and do the right thing. I have a steering issue with a 2001 SE. At a very low speed, a slight knocking noise is coming form the steering column area. According to the local dealer, the left front wheel is to be removed, the steering shaft removed and lubricated. Their statement about this issue implies this is part of standard maintenance. Nowhere in the owners manual is this stated. The service dept also implies that GM backs there comments.
As for the car, I really like the car and so does my wife. As for a repeat buy again, its according to how the service people treat me. Good luck in your endeavor.
