You can believe whatever you wish. But without offering a counterpoint, it doesn’t mean a thing to anyone else.

I believe. He’s not making a dime off off us; we are not even acquaintances. So people either love their car so much though they overlook its flaws. Or they are defending a car choice vs appearing a fool. Still it’s a comment. Maybe some other sentences in it are worth a look.

Why? If the vehicle in question was stationary and got rear ended by a vehicle travelling 55 MPH then there is no way that it could be driven away. I don’t care how safe the Fiero is.
Now if it was travelling down the road at 55 MPH and got clipped from behind and got spun around into a field then possibly. However other vehicles could survive that as well.

Unless you plan on buying one why devote your positive energy? Move on. You’ll get over it.

Pointing out flaws in people’s thought processes can be beneficial, on the off-chance that some of it is taken to heart. We are all better off from widespread, sound critical thinking.

My Fiero was stationary waiting for traffic to clear to turn left. It was a 97 Cavalier that rear ended me (she was texting). I have lots of pics for proof. The Cav was shot. It had to be towed. I was able to drive my Fiero home without major injury. The rear was pushed in, but a come along tied to a tree fixed that! I then drove her as an everyday driver for the next two years without really doing anything major maintenance-wise. I sold her (it was an 85 SE 2.5) and then bought an 86 GT a few years later. Big difference in performance. The 2.8 was bored and stroked and now has a few more ponies. I once beat a stupid kid in his 85 Porsche 944. That was fun!

You may find it hard to believe, but I have the accident photos that the police took at the scene to prove it! This is not the only story, I know of at least 5 more similar stories from other Fiero owners. Check around on the forum sites and you will see.

Mass helps. My Dad's 88 Town Car always felt safe to be in. If I were in a new Fiat 500 or a Mini Cooper, I'm not sure.
