1989 Pontiac Firefly from North America

Summary:

All in all, a decent little no-frills car

Faults:

The car was fine for the first few years. After that, anything that could go wrong with it mechanically, did.

The engine was rebuilt twice.

In the first year, a button on the dash fell off.

Passenger side door lock began to get stiff, and eventually would not lock.

Very large ignition/door key broke inside both door locks.

Interior cloth and vinyl wore badly.

In later years of ownership, the engine would not turn after wet weather.

General Comments:

Engine power isn't all that great. Forget about trying to pass anyone while going uphill.

Cabin is loud, and window fogging can be quite bothersome.

Excellent fuel economy.

A decent car if you're only concerned with getting from point A to point B.

If well maintained, this car will last for years. I logged plenty of miles on mine.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know
