2006 Pontiac G6 6-cylinder 3.5L V6 from North America

Summary:

Great bang for the buck with style

Faults:

So far nothing.

Suspecting an electrical problem. Lights flicker when any switches are operated. Probably a non-issue, as my Cavalier did the same thing.

General Comments:

Absolutely great handling, thanks to electrical power steering. Very light in tight parking spots.

Minor gripes with interior, poorly placed cup holders, small glove box and steering audio control missing useful buttons (Radio/CD, etc.)

Very quiet and drives solid.

2006 Pontiac G6 GTP 3.9L V6 from North America

Summary:

The G6 GTP is the best bang for the buck

Faults:

The power seat had a lot of play in it when I first purchased the car, which has since been fixed. There was also a scratch in the paint that I suspect happened when sitting on the showroom floor.

General Comments:

I was originally going to buy a V8 Mustang, but the price of gas and insurance was more than I wanted to spend. The G6 GTP comes with a 240 horse 3.9L V6 and an upgraded performance suspension which provides more than adequate power and handling for half of the gas and insurance of the Mustang.

Great handling, plenty of power, an awesome leather interior package, a killer factory Monsoon radio and a price tag in the mid 20's, make the G6 GTP the best bang for the buck.

2006 Pontiac G6 GT 3.5 from North America

Summary:

A truly amazing car

Faults:

I have had no problem, what so ever. I do not think I will either.

General Comments:

The best car I have ever owned, and this makes my 23rd car.

The Pontiac G6 is amazing, bottom line. There is no comparison. I traded in my Toyota Camry in August 2005 for this car. I was very skeptical. However, I have learned that this is the better car. I don't keep cars that often, but I will keep this one. I drive like a MADMAN! The Camry couldn't handle me, but this car does well. The engine power is great and the brakes are even better. Even driving like this, I get the great fuel economy listed on the sticker. Not to mention, the fuel gauge is accurate, when it is full, it is on F, not two inches past F. I love the panoramic sunroof. I was skeptical because of what the journalists were saying, but now I know they just don't like US cars.

Favorites: EVERYTHING! The engine, the brakes, the awesome sound system, XM, on-star, 18 inch rims, panoramic sunroof, comfortable interior, ample space, built like a tank.

And I wouldn't change a thing on this car!

I am an owner of a G6 as well and would agree that the journalists hate American cars. My daughter, who was a Honda prelude owner, loved my car and said it shifted better than hers (I agreed). I have not driven a better car in its price range, yet. All my passengers love the car too! All around, you can't beat it!

2006 Pontiac G6 4Dr GT 3.5L from North America

Summary:

This is a great car and fun to drive!

Faults:

There has been absolutely nothing wrong with this car, except I recently rear-ended another car at about 10mph. I was on gravel and had to make an immediate merge due to ZERO warning signs at a construction site. There was gravel on pavement, and I bumped into a vehicle in front of me because he couldn't merge either. With that, I only lost a little paint.

Obviously, this is not a problem with the car, just a personal account of disappointment in damaging my beautiful car.

General Comments:

This care is fun to drive. I've let two other people drive it (including my wife), and they both wanted to get rid of their current cars to get a G6. My wife is always snagging my car to run her errands.

The electronic steering makes for a very smooth experience in the drive. It tightens up when you build up speed, but in slow situations, it turns easily and makes a very comfortable drive.

The throttle is also electronic (I think), and is extremely responsive. There is a noticeable difference in how the throttle works.

The engine is PLENTY for me. I used to drag race professionally, and I like a car with spunk, but not so much that I lose my wallet in the gas tank. The G6 3.5L seems to accomplish the task of giving you the spunk AND the fuel economy.

It handles very nicely at high speeds and on sharp curves. The ride is very smooth, yet has a sporty feel.

The interior is sweet. It has a modern feel with nice gauges. I have the 6 disc player with information center, and I'll never want to go without ever again. The mesh fiber is breathable and nice looking. The solid black is very sharp looking, but obviously shows up everything, so keep 'er clean.

The exterior speaks for itself. It is a very sharp looking car and turns heads.
