Faults:
I have a previous review of my wonderful car that I purchased NEW in 1994.
I am seeing a trend here after reading the other reviews on the same car.
People that are buying USED cars are just asking for trouble. You don't know what kind of people have driven that car, nor do you know if that car was broken in correctly and maintained properly.
I bought my car brand new in 1994 and I can tell you that it has been impeccably maintained. I haven't had any serious malfunctions and I love my car. I consider it a very wise investment and I am glad that I chose this car. I would buy another Grand Am in a heartbeat (new), but mine is doing wonderful at 145,000 miles, I may never need another one! And guess what. The Air conditioning works like the day I bought it. The paint still looks great too. My car is garaged, so that helps to keep the paint nice. And regular washings and waxing helps too.
Consider buying NEW next time and keep your car up. The "break in" time is very important (the first 1,000 miles). This is important - Don't buy a car that was once a rental, you are just asking for trouble. You can bet every idiot has driven that car and do you think people really car about rental cars? They don't own them, they don't care.
My car has had regular oil changes, belts, hoses and fluids inspected and replenished when needed. I have had the usual things go out (after 100,000 miles - water pump, heater core) No problem, no car is problem free. But you can save yourself a lot of trouble by buying new and don't buy someone else's problems. Why do you think people get rid of their cars in the first place.
Good luck and happy motoring.
