1995 Pontiac Grand Am SE 4.3 Quad 4 from North America
Summary:
This is a great car for your money!!
Faults:
There has only been a few things gone wrong with the car in the time I have had it. It acted sluggish shortly after I got it.
I had to replace the alternator.
I had to replace the battery after not cranking the car for 2 weeks.
The timing chain broke after 128,000 miles and at the same time, the head was cracked and bent a valve.
General Comments:
This has generally been a great car. It has only had minor problems until now. About 2 weeks after I bought the car, it started acting funny. it would seem as if it was running out of gas while I was driving. After being at the dealer for a very long time they finally figured out I had trash in the injector. After flushing it out, the car ran great.
I have only had to replace breaks, the belt, the alternator, and the battery. the battery went bad after not cranking it for 2 weeks.
Another minor problem with the car is that the fuse that controls the door locks and the cigerette lighter kept blowing. Change from the change compartment would slide down into the cigerette lighter and short it out.
I have put 70,000 miles on this car in 2 1/2 years, and have not once changed the oil or kept up with any of the upkeep this car needed. This car was my only transportation and was driven a lot every day. For a car to be neglected the way it has been, it has really done well for me. Now, it needs some motor work because I have let it go for so long.
I definitely recommend this car. It is great on gas, and doesn't require a lot of upkeep. The car is very comfortable and roomy. It will hold 5 people with no squishing.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
