Faults:
So I currently own a 2000 Grand Am. I purchased it in '01, and have had numerous problems with it.
36000 miles, the PS line cracked; the dealer's response, you need a new rack... $1200. I had it rigged for $60.
The brake light shorted out around 60000.
Numerous ignition problems including the lock cylinder, which has been replaced 3x, and the switch itself... $300+ per repair.
The intake gaskets were also replaced at about 60000 miles.
The warning lights come on for no reason and shut off within a day or so... no reason why this happens.
The brakes have been replaced far too many times. The battery also must be replaced often.
The turn signal switch malfunctions, causing a clicking sound that NEVER stops.
I have always had problems with hard or hesitant starts, GM has no idea why.
The engine light is on... an emissions leak, NOT the gas cap; again GM doesn't know why.
The passenger side front window worked when it wanted to, then fell off the track. This was followed by the back passenger window falling off its track.
The mirrors have all fallen off... yes, I said they fell off.
The heat/AC resistor has broken 4 times. The clock/radio display no longer illuminates.
The dash cover is now peeling up towards the windshield.
I am sure there's more I forgetting, but this is enough... no more GM. I busted my butt to pay for this car, and have had nothing but problems in return. I have maintained this vehicle according to the manual, and still numerous expensive problems... thanks.

The hazard light is the problem with the blinkers not working, and once you replace the switch on the dash above the radio, it stops clicking and the blinkers work. It's been recalled in the past.
