Bought an '89 Grand Prix new, and I would add that it was also the most reliable car I ever owned. Drove it to 112,000 and upgraded to something new in '96. At that time the only thing wrong with it was corroded brake line leaking. Probably due to heavy winter driving in salt etc. (MN)
The paint finish was like new, motor was as clean as a whistle, due to frequent regular oil changes. I miss the sturdiness and reliability of that car. Plus it had lots of power, was fun to drive and had a pretty fair stock sound system.

I also own a 89 Grand Prix Turbo. It's 2-Door and it's really reliable. I've had it for about 6 months and it has 204,000 miles on it. I thought that the transmission was going to go out, due to the shifting, but when I took it to the shop they said it was great. The only things I've had to fix where the brakes, and the left door handle, that broke during the winter. You could tell that the person who had the car before me raced a lot in it. It's hard for me not to race because it kicks into gear easily. I'm convinced that if you keep it in shape it should last you for quite a while.

I bought a 1989 Pontiac Grand Prix LE last summer. It is a reliable and extremely sporty little coupe. The car's paint is bad and the door handles are broken. The electronic gauges are unique. I get about 29 mpg, others get about what?

My 1989 Grand Prix LE has 200,00 miles on it and I still get around 30MPG on the highway. It runs great!

I also own an 89 Pontiac Grand Prix. It is the first car I have ever owned and it is very reliable. I've had a few minor problems, such as the rear struts going bad, the axel's went bad, and I had to get a new alternator. My digital dash has not yet gone bad. And it has only 91,000 miles on it.
