I recently bought a 95 Grand Prix GTP, but its the 4 door model. It has the 215 bhp 3.4L DOHC V6. I understand that this is somewhat uncommon in that model. All it needs is the spoiler. Unfortunatley, the car is white. It still looks good, and is mint. Has anyone had a problem with a transaxle leak in theirs??

I am 17. I have had three GPs; two of them 95. I also had a 93. It was a five speed. It had the 3.4 DOHC. It would get and go.
I like the look of the 95 better, but the head lights suck. The 3.1 is more reliable and has more compression.
My brother wrecked one of my 95s and bought a 98se, and I sold him the motor and it's still running strong.
So if you have a problem with your car, fix it, they are very good cars and they will do you right.

I have owned a 1995 Grand Prix SE Coupe since Mar 1996. I bought with 11000 miles on it. I gave it to my son last year with over 150k. No major repairs. Engine, trans, etc. all great.
Cons: driver seat back broke and he now has to drive from the back seat. Paint on side panels and bumpers faded, center console lid broke, glove compartment latch broke, passenger side window and door control panel came off. Driver door lock broke.
Does anyone, anyone, anyone know where we can get a driver seat? Dealer says they cannot order the the seat itself. Only parts to fix it.

I own a 95 Grand Prix SE Coupe, green-blue, with about 175000 miles on it.
I am probably the 4th or 5th owner and it originally came from Kansas, then to Florida, and now Ohio so this car has had its toll!
I have a lot of problems with mine.
- Driver side handle broke off
- Struts are broke
- Driver's seat doesn't slide back and forth
- The trunk leaks
- Console broke (I've seen this in about every one!)
- Doesn't shift when suppose to
- Driver's window won't budge sometimes
- Won't start sometimes (my father and boyfriend are both certified mechanics and cannot find anything wrong)
- My left turn signal only lights up, but doesn't flash so it's manual
- Sometimes it rides like a Clydesdale, other times its smooth as can be.
- Can speed up very fast, while some days its very sluggish.
OH... the parts are EXPENSIVE!!!
I just replaced my right headlight for $30!!! Just for one!
As for replacing anything big, your best bet is the junk yard (and good luck finding one just like yours). I have YET to come across one that is just like mine.
I love the material the body is made of. One time someone t-boned a parked car - next to mine - pushed it into my car and it only left a scratch on mine. And of course, I've "bumped" my car plenty of times when parking and you'd never know.
This car is great, but your best bet is to find one that's been well taken care of all its life.

The 95 Grand Prix SE is great. I have the the one with the sports package and have almost 150000 miles on it, but it still runs great.
