I bought a '95 Sunfire GT 2.3L, back in '99. the car now has 231,000km. I only had to replace the water pump and the catalytic converter in 2002 with 210,000km. Other than regular maintenance the car has ran perfect.

1995 Pontiac Sunfire SE Coupe from North America

Summary:

A lemon at best

Faults:

Three Days after I purchased the car, the head gasket blew. Eleven months later the head cracked. A year and 4 months later the head gasket blew again. Many people have the same problem with the Sunfire.

General Comments:

The Dealership where I purchased this car, is known as DAVIS PONTIAC of Richboro, Pa. They are rude and will not help you. People are gathering together to form a class-action suit against General Motors. This is one of the worst cars and biggest mistakes I've ever made. Even when I took the car to the dealership to be repaired, it was done sloppily and incorrectly.

I don't know why the Pontiac Sunfire has so many bad reviews. I have a 1995 Pontiac Sunfire 4-door SE and it runs great.

I also had a 1997 Pontiac sunfire and it broke all to pieces right after the 50,000 warranty was up. I would like to know more about this law suite as I have been trying this for years. Also they are very rude everywhere and like to make cheap cars for more business.
