At 113 k the motor mounts went, the radio stays on when the key is pulled, the aircon causes the engine and tranny to run out of sync (great when temp is in high 80's in a black car).
The motor mount was replaced, and the tranny was knocked out of sync with the engine, and I now need a new tranny. Also, the engine knocks.
Go Honda; 400 K and not a drop of oil lost. 113k and this American tin is garbage dump bound.

I hate this car. Not only does the dome light come on when I put on my turn signals, when I press on the brake the high beams come on and I have replaced the electrical window motor in both windows twice!! Better yet the dealer has told me I have no electrical problems. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!!

I bought my 2003 Sunfire in 2007 and within two weeks of having it my driver's side window motor went. The dealership covered the cost stating it was under warranty (good thing). Every winter the car has problems starting & can't plug it in because it has NO block heater! Also by winter '07 the passenger's side window motor went too! The wheel bearings are horrible, the car makes awful noises when I turn left. The paint job is crap, as soon as anything touches the car the paint chips away.
I will never buy another Sunfire ever.

I have 60,000km's on my 2003 Sunfire and here are my problems. Turning left makes horrible GRINDING sounds, and my electrical just went. Has anyone else experienced this? Would love to hear about your fix. I've always driven Pontiac's, and can say I have never had problems before. I can't believe my electrical has already gone at 60k. NOT GOOD.

I have owned by 2003 Sunfile for almost 6 years (134000 plus kilos). I have had NO problems. I had it in for emission testing last fall and was told it runs as good or better than new.
Yes, my front bumper is a shade different then the rest of the car, but it makes it easier to find in a parking lot.
The only downside for me is the manual tranny. I find the shifter too far back and it's a "hard" shift.
I have no "power" anything, so I haven't had electrical issues; other than replacing the tail light wiring harness three times in 6 months, all free of course.

I bought my 03 Sunfire about a year ago. Within the first week, there was a/c blower issue, the dealership fixed-no cost to me since they told me it was still under warranty.
The radio/cd display lights are going out. NOW, my car is having issues starting. The car out of the blue wouldn't start. After working on for 6 hours, then coming and trying again 3 hours later, it started and ran fine, no problem. The next day trying to go to work, it happened again.
I can't find anything online that addresses this. I have seen several issues with other year Sunfires with the fuel injectors, I am hoping this isn't going to be the case with my car.
