2010 Pontiac Vibe 2.4L 4 cylinder from North America
Summary:
This is a great car, that is practical yet fun, and aesthetically pleasing
Faults:
This car has had no acquired problems so far. It has run very consistently, and maintenance has been performed only as scheduled.
General Comments:
The Vibe is a surprisingly good car.
With the 2.4L engine, it has plenty of pep for most people. The DGS (driver gear selection aka semi-automatic) transmission mode can be used to squeeze even more performance out of the car. It definitely isn't a sports car, but with the bigger engine option, it has plenty of power for its size, and can be surprisingly fun to drive.
This is an extremely practical vehicle, despite being stylish and sporty enough to appeal to younger buyers. The back seat is comfortable for most people, even with the front seats adjusted a comfortable distance. With the backseat folded down, the cargo space in this little car is unparalleled.
My only gripe is in driver comfort. It is fine for most drives, however it is lacking in features for longer drives. The wheel is too far away, so as to cause arm fatigue after several hours. However, the pedals are too close to simply move the seat closer. It is also lacking in adequate armrests. The seat also has very little lumbar support, which can be a pain on long drives.
I would definitely recommend this car to anyone who is using it primarily for commutes or city driving. I would just not recommend it to anyone who frequently makes long road trips.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Just checking you know the steering wheel telescopes (moves) in and out?

We test drove several Vibes before buying our last new car. We liked the look and feel, but were very concerned that it was built by Toyota. We had also test driven a Highlander, and found it poorly built and unsafe. We are now glad we passed up the Vibe, because it became caught up in the Toyota recall mess for very dangerous safety issues. We bought a Ford. It is flawless. Our friends who bought Vibes are facing the inconvenience of recalls, and worry about its safety.
