1992 Renault 5 campus 1.2 1.2 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Great quick little car

Faults:

When I got the car it needed a new set of brake discs brake pads a service all of which I did myself AT 75594.

THE CLUTCH WENT ahh after only doing 500 miles the previous owner had the revs up high and I novice driver did not tell bout that it cost me 220 euro.

Replaced the rear bumper as was falling apart.

Rust was starting to appear at the rear window seals and there was water getting through the boot.

General Comments:

The car is very reliable and has no major faults never breaks down, but does struggle going up hills there is not really a lot of space for the tall driver, but is compact and easy to fix I would get another model if I had the cash.

French practical economical beauty

Faults:

Clutch replaced at 125000 miles. Rear wheel cylinders at 130000mls. Rear shocks, exhaust, brake pads/shoes at 140000mls.

General Comments:

Most reliable car I've owned. Parts cheap and plentiful. Comfortable and easy on fuel, 45mpg.

Front chassis legs prone to rot, need painting every year. Water thermostat needs replacing every two years. Otherwise no major body or mechanical problems. Straightforward and easy to work at. The 1108cc engine is indestructible.

1992 Renault 5 Campus Prima 1.4 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A fun, economical, good looking car to drive

Faults:

The exhaust was replaced at 67113 miles

General Comments:

Nothing has gone wrong with the car since I have owned it.

The amount of room is deceptive because the back seats are actually quite spacious.

My Renault 5 is quick and economical, ideal because I am only a student and this is my second car.

There is no rust at all and for a K reg I feel I got a bargain.
